ARRINGTON, Mr. Ramsey M., 77, of 1315 South Avenue, Princeton, W.Va., formerly of Roanoke, died Sunday, April 10, 1994, at a Princeton hospital. Born in Bedford, he was the son of the late Randolph T. and Mintie Karnes Arrington. He was the Retired Human Officer for Roanoke City. Survivors include his wife, Mary Sites Arrington, Princeton, W.Va.; one son, Norm Arrington, Princeton, W.Va.; one sister, Eunice Prillaman, Roanoke; one brother, Ed Arrington, Roanoke. Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday from the Memorial Funeral Directory in Princeton, W.Va., with the Rev. Charles Doyle officiating. Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Sherwood Cemetery in Salem.

CAMPBELL, James Lewis, (``Buck''), 90, of Roanoke, died Sunday, April 10, 1994. Mr. Campbell was a member of Hollins Road Church of the Brethren, and was a retired carpenter. Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by his parents, William and Willie Alice Robertson Campbell; and his wife, Mary J. Bryant Campbell. Surviving are a daughter, Bernice L. Vreekeen of Granada Hills, Calif.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, 1994, at Oakey's North Chapel with the Rev. Bruce A. Noffsinger and the Rev. Jack Gross officating. CROMER, Grady Hoyle, 76, of Christiansburg, died Sunday, April 10, 1994, at his home. Mr. Cromer was born in Montgomery County, Virginia, April 13, 1917, a son of the late Grady Black Cromer and Dora Alice Whitaker Cromer. He was a retired mechanic of the Motor Pool Department at Virginia Tech. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Geraldine Cromer; one son, Grady C. Cromer, Christiansburg; two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Mary Alice) Evans and Grace Elizabeth Cromer, both of Blacksburg; two brothers, Frank (``Bud"") Cromer, Blacksburg, John Henry Cromer, Christiansburg; 9 nieces; 15 nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Jerry Shepherd officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. DUNCAN, Bradley William, 87, of Chilhowie, died Saturday, April 9, 1994, at his home. He was a life long resident of Smyth County and had taught for several years in the Smyth County Schools. He was a retired employee of Burlington Industries and was a retired farmer. He was a member of Faith Fellowship Church. He is survived by his wife, Anna Rosenbaum Duncan; one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and James Dale Oliver, Blacksburg; two brothers, Neil Duncan and Miles Duncan, both of Chilhowie; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Rouse and Mrs. Mary Copenhaver, both of Chilhowie; two granddaughters and one grandson-in-law, Brenda Oliver, Blacksburg, Debbie and Rick Dustin, Springfield, Ohio; t wo great grandsons, Michael and Erik Dustin, Springfield, Ohio. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday at the Mountain View United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Donald M. Green and the Rev. Terry Lineberry officiating. HELMS, Lillian Valter, 97, of Salem, died Friday, April 8, 1994, in the Snyder Nursing Home. Born in New York City, she was the wife of the late Franklin W. Helms. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She is survived by one son, Franklin W. Helms Jr., Flat Rock, N.C.; one daughter, Mrs. Marjorie H. Spicer, Salem; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 1994, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Salem, with Dr. Robert Copenhaver officiating. MAIN, Evelyn Rodwell, 88, of Roanoke, died Saturday, April 9, 1994, at a local hospital. She was the widow of Joseph Albert Main. Mrs. Main was born in Macon, N.C. on October 31, 1905. She was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church and was a choir member for 45 years. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Sally Main, Norfolk; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Bob Swindell of Radford, Nancy and Ed Buck of Wayne, Pa.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Hattie Johnson, Greensboro, N.C.; a brother, David Rodwell of Georgetown, S.C. Funeral services will be at First Presbyterian Church 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Robert D. Smith officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. NEILL, Mattie Lou, 87, of Pearisburg, died Sunday, April 10, 1994. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Martha) Carter of Pearisburg. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church in Cleveland, Mississippi, with burial in the New Cleveland Cemetery. TILLEY, Helen Lamar, 81, of Narrows, died Sunday, April 10, 1994, in Giles Memorial Hospital at Pearisburg, Va. She was retired employee of the Hoechst-Celanese Plant near Narrows and a member for many years of the Pembroke Christian Church and Womens Auxillary. She was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Tilley, two sons, William (Bill) Tilley, Jr. and Thomas (Tommy) Tilley. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Gerald (Jerry) and Mary Tilley of Independence, Mo.; three daughters, Lillian M. Riley of Narrows, Va., Mrs. Lawrence (Ann) Mills of Eggleston and Mrs. Russell (Jean) Ratcliff of New Castle, Va.; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Russell Lamar of Cleveland, Ohio; one sister and brother-in-law, Hulda and Walter Rye of M arion, Ind. VEST, Addie Lee, 93, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 10, 1994. She passed away at her home after a struggle with cancer. She was born in Franklin Co. April 18, 1900, to Elder Wiley A. and Lizena Sloane Via. She was the widow of the William C. Vest. She was preceded in death by a brother, R. L. Via Sr. and grandson, Bruce Eric Midkiff. Mrs. Vest is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara V. and Randolph G. Midkiff; a stepdaughter, Elvah V. Smith of Vinton; a granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Vickie M. and R. Lindsey Arnold of Roanoke; a grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Jeffrey S. and Susan W. Midkiff of Annandale; two great-granddaughters, Rebekah and Kaitlyn Arnold of Roanoke; a sister and brother-in-law, Jessie V. a nd Clarence E. Minnix of Etters, Pa.; several special nieces and nephews. She was a member of Laurel Ridge Primitive Baptist Church in Roanoke. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Ray Goad, Willis; two sons and daughters-in-law, Freddie and Shirley Weddle, Copper Hill, Carl and Margaret Weddle, Roanoke; one brother, Clarence Spence, Laurel Fork; one sister, Florence McGraw, Millington, Md.; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. YEAGER, James Richard III, 47, of 200 New Brunswick Rd., Fishersville, died Sunday, April 10, 1994, at his home. He was born in Lexington, Va., August 6, 1946, to James R. Yeager Jr. and Ruth Coffey Yeager, residents of Lexington. He was a graduate of Lexington High School, Class of '65 and of Phillips Business College in Lynchburg, Va., Class of '66. He served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam crisis. He was also a graduate of the Virginia State Police Academy, 1970, and was the first fire chief of the Preston Yancey Fire Department in Fishersville. He was a lifetime honorary member of the Occoquan Woodbridg e-Lorton Fire Dept. and employed as the Deputy Superintendent of the Charlottesville-Albemarle Joint Security Complex. He was a member of the Fishersville United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Yeager; one daughter, Patricia Leigh Yeager, both of Fishersville; one sister, Carolyn E. Ramsey, Decatur, Ga. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 2 p.m. at the Fishersville United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Augusta Memorial Park.
