ETC. THOMAS WINS TURNER AWARD AT NRVS

Veteran driver Ronnie Thomas was presented the first weekly Curtis Turner Memorial Hard Charger Award during a pre-race ceremony Saturday night at New River Valley Speedway.

The Christiansburg Late Model Stock Car driver received the award from "Bunny" Turner, widow of the racing legend, and R.B. Duncan, president of Heritage Buick, Pontiac, Olds, GMC of Pulaski, which sponsors the award.

Thomas earned the honor by improving eight positions during the opening night LMSC race. He started 21st and finished 13th.

A plaque containing a Turner collectible card will be presented to each week. At the end of the season, a five-member committee will select the first annual award winner from the weekly winners.
