HERE'S WHERE TO SEEK HELP FOR VISION-IMPAIRED

The Roanoke Regional Office of the Virginia Department for the Visually Handicapped is at 210 Church Ave. The telephone number is 857-7122. Rehabilitation teachers and vocational rehabilitation counselors are available to help the visually handicapped learn ways of adjusting.

The services are free.

A limited number of television sets are available on loan, but the waiting list is long. The Roanoke office, however, can arrange low-interest loans to qualified individuals wishing to purchase a TV.

The Radio Reading Service, for those in need of assistance or those who wish to volunteer as readers, can be reached by calling WVTF Public Radio, 857-8900.
