SO?!!

Reading: It's a great activity to do alone, but it also can be fun to read with other people. On Wednesday night, your family is invited to join local disc jockeys for "The Great American Read-Aloud: Night of a Thousand Stars" at the Main Library in downtown Roanoke.

The Roanoke City Public Library and libraries across the country will sponsor this family read-aloud program, which begins at 7 p.m.

Among the celebrity DJs reading from their favorite books: Sam Giles, WROV Radio; Duke Ellington, WTOY Radio; Sally Sevaried and Monty "MOFO" Foster, K-Krew, WXLK/L-92 Radio; Kenny Shelton, WYYD Radio; and Delvis "Mac" MacCadden, WROV-FM Radio.

If you're looking for something to do outside this weekend, you might want to join the Science Museum of Western Virginia's Wildflower Pilgrimage. Participants will learn about wildflowers and birds and will hear from experts on those subjects.

The pilgrimage, or journey to or through a place of interest, will be held Friday-Sunday and the weekend of April 29-May.
