ANDREWS TO SPEAK IN ROANOKE

Lynchburg native Donna Andrews, one of the rising stars on the LPGA Tour, will be the guest speaker at Wednesday night's April meeting of the Roanoke Valley Sports Club at the Roanoke Civic Center Exhibition Hall.

Andrews, 28, who captured her first major professional golf title earlier this month at the Nabisco Dinah Shore Classic, is the only two-time winner this season on the LPGA Tour. She ranks second on the LPGA money list with $202,100.

Before turning pro in 1990, Andrews was a dominant force in Virginia women's golf, winning State Junior Girls' titles in 1983 and '84 before capturing five straight Women's State Am championships from 1985-89.

The meeting starts at 6:15 p.m. It will be preceded by a social at 5:45.
