NEW RIVER COMMITTEE MEETS TONIGHT

The National Committee for the New River will hold an open meeting tonight from 7:30 until 9 at the Virginia Tech Museum of Natural History, 428 N. Main St.

Fred Benfield of the Virginia Tech Biology Department will speak on Streams as Ecosystems.

Other topics will include the impact of the proposed I-73 corridor through the New River Valley, plans for adopt-a-stream programs, river cleanups and local float trips.
