BOITNOTT, Reece T., 86, of Roanoke, died Wednesday, April 20, 1994. Born in Franklin County, he was a son of the late Jacob and Maggie Boitnott. Mr. Boitnott was a retired truck driver and a Navy veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Lucille Hale Boitnott; daughter, Peggy J. CLARK, Victoria Vaden Huffman, 68, of Salem, died Monday, April 18, 1994. She was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Clifton Huffman; a daughter, Judy Carolyn Huffman. COLEMAN, Ellen Ruff, 85, of Bedford, died Wednesday, April 20, 1994, at her home. She was born in Bedford County January 10, 1909, a daughter of the late John Davis Ruff and Callie Frances Parker Ruff. She was the widow of Gordon Herman Coleman and a member of Bedford Christian Church. She is survived by two sons, Jack Lee Coleman and Bennie H. Coleman, both of Bedford; three daughters, Dorothy C. Chadwick, Williamsburg, Phyllis C. Galbreath, Jeffersonville, Ind., Gale C. Foutz, Roanoke; three brothers, John D. Ruff and Pete J. Ruff, both of Bedford and Aubrey L. Ruff of Stafford; three sisters, Nellie R. Powers and Estelle R. Bradley, both of Bedford and Frances R. Dawson of Rocky Mount; also 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at the graveside in Greenwoo d Cemetery on Friday, April 22, 1994 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Kenneth E. Burger officiating. FARMER, Edward W., 71, of Roanoke passed away Wednesday, April 20, 1994, in a local hospital. He was retired from Royal Globe Insurance Company and was an Air Force veteran. Surviving are his wife, Betty J. Farmer; a daughter, Linda F. Nelson, Roanoke; two very special grandchildren, Jeff C. Phillips, Roanoke, Teik N. Phillips, Roanoke; two brothers, John G. Farmer, Rocky Mount, Charles G. McDonald, Rocky Mount; and a sister, Elizabeth Gray Hjorth, Florida. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday from Oakey's North Chapel with the Rev. FLINT, Louise Mull, 64, of Glasgow, died Tuesday, April 19, 1994, at her residence. Mrs. Flint was born in Rockbridge County on July 1, 1929, a daughter of the late John Williams Mull and Lillie Josephine Swanger Mull. She attended the Natural Bridge Baptist Church and was retired from Burlington Industries, and was the widow of Russell S. Flint. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis M. and Linda Flint, Glasgow; two sisters, Virginia Shanks, Natural Bridge Station, Frances Hill, Natural Bridge Station; two brothers, Eugene Mull, Glasgow, Franklin Mull, Glasgow; one half brother, Woodrow Mull, Natural Bridge Station; mother-in-law, Bertha Flint, Glasgow; and special friends, Dean and Mac Floyd and Wennie and Gary Seay. GRAMMER, Randolph J., (``Ranny''), 79, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, April 19, 1994. He was an active member of Greene Memorial United Methodist Church, where he had served as general superintendant of the church school for 14 years. He wa s co-founder of Rusco Window Company of Roanoke and also served as chairman of the board of Rusco Window Company. He was a graduate of the University of Richmond and served in the U.S. Army 11th Airborne Division during World War II, retiring with the rank of 1st Lt. He was past president of the Roanoke Rotary Club and recipient of the Rotary Paul Harris Fellow Award. He was past president of the Roanoke Sales and Marketing Executives Club and was a member of the Shenandoah Club. He served on various civic committees and community drives and was an organizer and director for United Virginia Bank (Security National). He was selected as Father of the Year (Religion) in the Roanoke Valley in 1977. Surviving are his wife, Marguerite Whitmore Grammer; two daughters and sons-in-law, Claudia G. and James H. Brock, Roanoke, Susan G. and Dave Woods, Charlotte, N.C.; his mother, Mrs. Virginia Johnson Grammer, Petersburg; five grandchildren, Gregory Brock, Kevin Brock, John Brock, Matthew Denson, Caroline Denson; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, 1:30 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Robert H. Garner and Dr. Jerry O. Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. MARTIN, William Robert, 51, of Seven Mile Ford, died Tuesday, April 19, 1994, in the Smyth County Community Hospital, Marion. He was a graduate of Chilhowie High School and attended Virginia Highlands Community College, Abingdon. He was a member of the Mountain View United Methodist Church. He was a State Fire Marshall, State of Virginia. He had been active for the past 20 years in baseball program and helped coach both the Chilhowie High School Baseball and Football Teams. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Riley Martin; one son, W.R. 'Chip"" Martin II, Richmond; one daughter, Shannon Martin, Radford; his mother Mickey Powers Martin, Chilhowie; one brother, Ernest Wade 'Butch"" Martin Jr., Galax; two sisters, Linda Keen, Tammy Davie, both of Chilhowie. Funeral services wil l be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Mountain View United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jeff W. Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. McDANIEL, James C. Jr., 72, of Salem, died Tuesday, April 19, 1994 in Lewis-Gale Hospital. He was a life long Salem resident and had been the owner of Jay-C Distributing Company for many years. He also was a Navy World War II veteran and he was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Blankenship McDaniel. Survivors include a sister, Kathleen McDaniel Young of Salem; two brothers, J. Owen McDaniel of Cheraw, S.C. and Dr. Edward C. McDaniel of Jacksonville, Fla.; a special niece, Lisa Sharpe, and several other nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 22, 1994 at 11 am in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with the Rev. R. Stuart Carlton. The family will receive friends on Thursday at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
MORRIS, Livingston Clay, 63, of Pearisburg, Va. died Wednesday, April 20, 1994, at his home following a long illness. Born in Giles County, Va. he was a son of the late Charles H. and Roxie Ann Sexton Morris. Mr. Morris was a retired employee of GE in Salem with 27 years of service and a veteran of the U. S. Armed Forces. Surviving are his wife, Peggy Albert Morris; two sons, David C. Morris of Riner, Va., Donald E. Morris, Pearisburg, Va.; one daughter, Dana M. Hartle of Atlanta, Ga.; five brothers, William V. Morris, Narrows, Wallace E. Morris, Radford, Theodore E. Morris, Salem, Charles H. Morris, Roanoke, Robert L. Morris, Portsmouth; several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a younger brother, Jay. A memorial service will be conducted Friday, A pril 22, 1994, at 7 p.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel, Pembroke.
