LIN CHAFF, owner of Lin Chaff Public Relations and Advertising, and \ BYRON L. YOST, First Union Bank, have been named to the board of directors of the YMCA of Roanoke Valley.

Chaff is owner of Lin Chaff Public Relations and Advertising. Yost is president for the Roanoke area for First Union National Bank of Virginia.

\ FRANK ATWOOD was honored as Buyer of the Year for 1993 by Moore's Lumber and Building Supplies. He has worked at Moore's since 1990 and was named Buyer of the Month for each month of the past year.

Donna Jennings was honored for her assistance to Atwood and Brett Holland, another buyer.

\ TIM STRAWN of Roanoke, owner of Baseli nes Tennis and Racquet Sports, was one of three official racquet stringers at the recent Easter Bowl junior tennis tournament at the Doral Resort in Miami, Fla.

The Easter Bowl, for age groups from 14-under to 18-under, is considered the U.S. Open of junior tennis. Past singles winners include Pete Sampras, Jimmy Connors, Chris Evert and Jennifer Capriati.

Strawn also has been recognized as a certified racquet technician by the U.S. Racquet Stringers Association.

Strawn is the tennis professional at Ridgewood Tennis Club in Salem and has taught tennis in the Roanoke Valley since 1988.
