SERB WARNED TO STOP

Serbian nationalists blanketed Gorazde with artillery fire and launched fresh infantry assaults into the eastern Bosnian town Friday night, ignoring a new United Nations Security Council resolution and a NATO ultimatum demanding their withdrawal, U.N. officials and ham radio operators said.

During 10 hours of deliberations, the allies warned Bosnian Serbs to halt their onslaught on the Muslim town or face immediate air strikes. Targets could include military support operations in the area.
