BARKER, Lois Helen, 74, of Catawba, died Saturday, April 23, 1994 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Haven L. Barker, and a granddaughter, Tracy Barker. She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Carl E. and Bonnie Barker, Roanoke, Larry H. Barker, Catawba; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda L. and Ronald Swim of Tennessee; her mother, Eva Lee Alls, Shawsville; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph E. Alls, New Castle, Maurice C. Alls, Lawrence Alls, both of Roanoke, Alton Wayne and Wanda Alls of Tennessee, Reginald C. and Polly Alls, Catawba; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Lillian A. and Daniel Allen, Salem, Marjorie and Keith Wright, Blacksburg, Loretta Caldwell, Roanoke; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; very dear friends, Kenneth and Ann a Wright, Patsy Keaton, Donna Weeks, and Kathy Welch. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Tuesday, April 26, 1994 at the Lotz Salem Chapel, with interment in the Alls Family Cemetery, Catawba. CREASY, Rowena Miear, 93, of Route 6, Forest, died Saturday, april 23, 1994 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Gillie Johnson Creasy. Born in Campbell County September 14, 1900, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Callie Pribble Miear. Mrs. Creasy was a member of Marsh Memorial United Methodist Church. She is survived by seven sons and daughters-in-law, Morris and Lillian Creasy, Forest, Berkley and Euphan Creasy, Lynchburg, Ray and Joyce Creasy, Gibsland, La., Wesley and Frances Creasy, Vinton, Kenneth and Sheila Creasy, Lynchburg, Irvi n and Barbara Creasy, Lynchburg, and Mack and Evelyn Creasy, Lynchburg; two daughters and one son-in-law, Arlene C. Smith, Bedford, and Thelma C. and Fred Sexton, Norfolk; 21 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 13 stepgrandchildren; 13 stepgreat-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by one son, Howard J. Creasy and one daughter, Vada C. Carter. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday at Whitten Timberlake Chapel by the Rev. Larry Craddock and the Rev. Wesley T. Creasy. Interment will be in Virginia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to p.m. Monday at the funeral home and at other times at the residence. CREECH, Barbara Lynn Ross, 27, of Roanoke, died Friday, April 22, 1994 in a Charlottesville hospital. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Katherin Kate Creech and Katlyn Angelica Creech. She is survived by her husband, Carl R. Creech; one son, Kyler Aaron Creech; a stepdaughter, Kristen Nicole Creech; her parents, Mr. & Mrs William S. Ross, Salem; two brothers and sisters-in-law, William S. and Susan Ross Jr., Salem, Robert E. and Kathy Ross, Marion. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 26, 1994 at 2 p.m. in the Lotz Salem Chapel, with Pastor Jimmy Burke and Pastor Nelson Harris officiating. LIECHTY, Shirley Clugh, of Sumter, S. C., died Sunday, April 24, 1994 at the Baptist Medical Center in Columbia, S. C. Born on September 30, 1924 in Akron, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Ralph Boyd Clugh. Mrs. Liechty was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and the Faholo Sunday School Class. She was a former board member and chairperson of Volunteers for Sumter Habitat for Humanity, past treasurer of Friends of the Library and a member o f the Mental Health Association Board and the Mental Health Board. Mrs. Liechty was a former president of the Junior Auxiliary Association of Helena, Arkansas. She was also a former member and Sunday School teacher of the Windsor Hills United Methodist Church in Roanoke, Va. Surviving are her husband, David H. Liechty; a son, David C. Liechty, Roanoke; a daughter, Elizabeth L. Williamson, Pawleys Island, S. C.; a brother, Dr. John R. Clugh, Aurora, Ohio; and three grandchildren, Blaire and Alex Liechty and Carrie Williamson. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Trinity United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Phil M. Jones officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Faholo Sunday School Class. Memorials may be made to the Habitat for Humanity and the Trinity United Methodist Church. WELCH, Henry Lynwood, 82, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, April 24, 1994 at his residence. He was born the son of Mary Moore and Labon Welch on November 30, 1911. Mr. Welch was a retiree of Norfolk & Western Railway, and a member of Melrose Baptist Church. Surviving is his wife, Edna D. Welch. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday from Oakey's North Chapel, with the Rev. Larry E. Sprouse and the Rev. James V. DeFoe officiating. WHITTAKER, Otto N., 77, of Roanoke, died Saturday, April 23, 1994. He was a former employee of Norfolk and Western Railway, a former advertising executive, a newspaper writer, author of three books, and the creator of the patriotic perspective ``I Am The Nation.'' Mr. Whittaker attended University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill). Surviving are his wife, Frances ``Petey'' Whittaker; three sons and a daughter-in-law, William W. and Janice H. Whittaker, Charlestown, W.Va., Steven C. Whittaker, Napa, Calif., Geoffrey W. Whittaker, Roanoke; five grandchildren and a great-grandson. A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday from Oakey's South Chapel with the Rev. Branan G. Thompson, Jr. officiating. YOUNG, Neva Umberger, 79, of Marion, died Sunday, April 24, 1994 in the Radford Community Hospital in Radford, Va. She was born December 5, 1914 in Wytheville, Va. to the late Flora Grace Felty and Piercen Kent Umberger. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Russell Young. Mrs. Young had lived in Marion most of her life and was a graduate of Marion and Radford Colleges. She was a teacher in th e Smyth County School System for thirty-six years and was a faithful member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Marion. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Robert Raymond and Nancy Hamilton Young; and one daughter and son-in-law, Margaret Joann and Norman Grayden Lineburg, all of Radford; one sister, Josephine Umberger Hedrick, Wytheville; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Malcolm Lloyd Umberger, and Ivan Hahn and Ruth Williams Umberger, all of Wytheville; six grandsons, Michael Kent Young, David Hamilton Young, Robert Grayden Lineburg, Mark Young Lineburg, Paul Norman Lineburg and Wayne Everett Lineburg. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 26, 1994 at 2 p.m. in the Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Aubrey Whitlow officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery.
