In Christiansburg, Tazewell (9-0) rapped nine hits and took advantage of six Christiansburg walks to club the Blue Demons 10-1. Denny Self had three hits for Christiansburg (5-7).
In Narrows, Jeff White struck out seven, and the Green Wave withstood a 40-minute rain delay to beat Auburn 10-0 in a Mountain Empire District game stopped after five innings because of the 10-run rule. Whitey Blankenship hit a two-run homer for Narrows (8-2, 4-0). Auburn is 4-7, 2-2.
James Fisher struck out eight and Jeff Jones followed suit with a two-hitter as Craig County took a doubleheader at Highland County 7-1 and 4-0. Craig is 4-7 overall, 3-3 in the Pioneer District. Highland County is 0-6, 0-5.
Ben Basham and Kevin Mann each homered for Shawsville as the Shawnees won 11-6 at Rocky Gap in a Mountain Empire District game. Shawsville is 9-3 overall, 3-0 in the MED. Rocky Gap is 1-8, 0-3.
Freshman Wes Self won his fourth consecutive decision with a four-hitter, Bobby Cheeks doubled and tripled and drove in four runs and Keith Weatherman homered as Grayson County bombed Bland 11-1 in five innings in Fries. Grayson County is 7-4 overall, 3-1 in the district.
\ BOYS' SOCCER: In Marion, six Blacksburg players scored goals and Ben Pinkerton and Chris Akins shared the shutout in a 6-0 victory. The Indians are 9-0-1; Marion's record fell to 2-5-1.
John Seale scored on an assist from Keith Mattson with five minutes left to lift Franklin County to a 3-2 Roanoke Valley District victory over host Pulaski County.
Jamie Bell scored twice and Ry Moore added a goal and an assist as host North Cross whipped Giles 4-0.
Ryan Stevens scored two goals for Liberty as the Minutemen won 3-1 at Staunton River. Lee Fisher also had a goal for Liberty (5-4), and Adam Sabine scored the Golden Eagles' lone goal.
