BARNES, Edith Jarrell, 82, of Draper, died Tuesday, April 26, 1994. Funeral 4 p.m. Thursday at Reese Funeral Home Chapel, Austinville.

BISHOP, Clarence Edgar, 96, of Cloverdale, died Tuesday, April 26, 1994, at his home. He was a member of the Troutville Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and trustee. He also owned and operated the Cloverdale Garage for 35 years from which he retired in 1964. He is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Pauline C. Bishop; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Virgil Bishop of Cloverdale, Ray and Stormy Bishop of Daleville; one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Jack Wilkerson of Nashville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 29 1994, 2 p.m. at the Troutville Baptist Church with Dr. E. Ray Frazier and Rev. Ken Butterworth officiating. Interment will follow in Mill Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Rader Funeral Home, Troutville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Organ Fund of the Troutville Baptist Church.

BOLDEN, Antionette Cotton, 28, of Roanoke, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 1994. Arrangements by Hamlar-Curtis Fuenral Home.

CALDWELL, Rebba Jeanette, 68, of Salem, died Wednesday, April 27, 1994. Surviving is her husband, Thomas D. Caldwell; daughter, Cherie Sledd of N.C.; one son, Thomas David Caldwell; her mother, Monnie St.Clair, both of Salem; one sister, Virginia DiBiase of Conn.; one brother, Roscoe Channon St.Clair of Salem; two grandchildren; many aunts and uncles. Services will be at Oakey's North Chapel 11:30 a.m. Friday. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at Oakey's North Chapel after 11 a.m. Thursday where the family will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

CRAWFORD, Nelda Francis, 94, of Orlando, Fla., and formerly of Salem, died Saturday, January 15, 1994, in Orlando, Fla. She was a member of the Salem Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Hyde Crawford Sr. Survivors include a son, J. Hyde Crawford Jr., of New York, N.Y. A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 30. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. in the Salem Presbyterian Church. Dr. Leighton Culler will officiate. Arrangements by John M. Oakey & Son, Salem.

DERRICK, Homer, 87, of Lexington, died Monday, May 2, 1994. His wife, Mabel Beckham Derrick died in 1988. Mr. Derrick was a native of Sou th Carolina, where he entered banking in 1924 with the American Bank & Trust Co. of Columbia, S.C. Shortly thereafter, he joined South Carolina National Bank and was associated with that bank for 24 years. In 1950, he became President of the Carolina National Bank, which had offices in Easley and Pendleton, S.C. In 1955, Mr. and Mrs. Derrick moved to Lexington, where he was named chairman of the board of directors and President of The First National of Lexington. During his tenure with First National, he founded and was the first president of a life insurance company, a fire and casualty insurance company, and an automobile physical damage insurance company. He also founded and was president of a mortgage banking firm and several real estate investment companies. Mr. Derrick retired from the bank in 1973. He served as chairman of the advisory council of Financial General Corp. of Washington, D.C., the holding company with which First National Bank was affiliated, and was president of the Financial International Corp. Mr. Derrick was also a member of the Morris Plan Advisory Board of Financial General Corp. Mr. Derrick was a member of the Good Sheperd Lutheran Church in Lexington. He is survived by three children, Mrs. Jeanne Morris of Mauldin, S.C., Mrs. Betsy Calvo of Richmond, VA., and H. E. Derrick of Lexington, VA. and 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 30, at Elmwood Cemetery in Columbia, S.C. A memorial service will be held in Lexington, Va., at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Good Shepherd Church in Lexington, Va.

DOUGLAS, Theron Ashton, 72, of Roanoke, died Wednesday, April 27, 1994, in a Roanoke hospital. He was a veteran of the Pacific Theater and served in New Guinea and the Philippines during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Dallas Douglas; a son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Angie Douglas, Troutville; a daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Joanne Douglas and Stephen J ackson, Radford; one brother, Bill Douglas, Roanoke; three sisters, Lila Holian and Joyce Maughan, both of Roanoke, Vivian Crabtree, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, Sarah and Jennifer Douglas, Emily Jackson. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 29, 1994, noon, at the Lotz Salem Chapel, with the Rev. John Armistead and the Rev. Rob Colwell officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. ERVIN, Eva M., 82, of Salem, died Tuesday, April 26, 1994. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Carl S. Ervin; daughter-in-law, Patricia S. Ervin; granddaughters and spouses, Linda E. Marshall and Harry, Laura E. Lockyear and Alan, Robin E. Joseph and Michael; great-grandchildren, Kimberly Marshall, Harrison Marshall, Tyler Marshall, Rachel Marshall, Russell Lockyear, Randle Lockyear, Matthew Joseph, and Anna Joseph; sisters, Lillian M. McGary, Blanche M. Campbell, Frances M. Fletcher, also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews. FAVILLE, Norris Staples, 79, of Roanoke, died suddenly Tuesday, April 26, 1994. She was born August 21, 1914 in Roanoke. She was the loving wife of recently deceased Mark Ward Faville Sr. She was a member of Raleigh Court United Methodist Church. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, M. Ward Jr. and Michele (Mickey) Faville, Blacksburg; her grandson, Mark W. Faville III, Chesapeake; two granddaughters, Courtney Wynne Faville and Holly Crain Faville, Blacksburg; two hephews, Dr. W. Linwood Outten III, Annandale, and Joseph Angell Jr., Wilmington, Del. LEFTWICH, Robert W., (Red), 74, of Roanoke, died Wednesday, April 27, 1994 in a local hospital. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and retired from the Norfolk & Western Railway. Mr. Leftwich was the founder of L&L Trucking. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn M. Leftwich; a sister, Geneva Schlichting of Thaxton; three brothers, Carlton O. Leftwich of Thaxton, Frank E. Leftwich of Vinton, Lewis M. Leftwich of Montvale; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be 12 noon Friday in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Lee Chattin will officiate. LYNSKEY, Hazel Huffman, 68, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, April 26, 1994. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Angelia Gail Lynskey. Surviving are her husband, James E. (Jim) Lynskey; sons and daughters-in-law, James E. and Claudia Lynskey II, Douglas A. and Connie Lynskey; daughter, Sharon Dunahoo; sisters, Bea Farmer, Alma Baker, Melba McLain; brother, Clayborn Huffman; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, at Lotz Roanoke Chapel by Rev. Charles Doyle with burial in Mountain View Cemetery. McGHEE, James Ernest, 69, of Kerrville, Texas, passed away Sunday, April 24, 1994. He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. J. Edd McGhee of Roanoke and wife, Evelyn. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Sid Rotge; son, David McGhee; two grandsons, Stephen and Christopher Rotge all of Texas. Graveside services were held Wednesday, April 27, 1994, 10 a.m. in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Kerrville, Texas.

OWEN, Robert James, 87, of Bedford, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 1994, in the Bedford County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Charley Mont, Va., a son of the late Robert Winston Owen and Leila Major Owen. He was a member of the Bedford Baptist Church, was a retired sales representative of the Continental Can Company, retiring after 24 years. He was a Lieutenant in the Navy during World War II, was a skipper of an L. S. T. in the Mediterranean Sea and Aegean Sea. He was also involved in the Invasion of Southern France. He was a member of the City and County School Board for 12 years, was chairman of the City School Board for 4 years and was past president of the Bedford Country Club. He is survived b y his wife, Frances Reeves Owen; a son, Robert J. (Skip) Owen Jr., Lynchburg. A graveside service will be conducted Friday, April 29, 1994 at 11 a.m. from the Greenwood Cemetery, by the Rev. Wayne Murphy and Dr. Francis Avery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Bedford Baptist Church or the Christian Services Building Fund. The family will receive friends at the residence. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home, Bedford.

PRYOR, Robert Edward, 66, of Natural Bridge Station, died Tuesday, April 26, 1994 in Community Hospital. Born December 3, 1927 in Buena Vista, he was the son of the late Obert Franklin Pryor and Mattie Mae Ogden Pryor Bates of Buena Vista. He was retired from Roanoke Electric Steel Corp. and was a member of Beth Horb United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Caleb Staton on April 1, 1994. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, June Watkins Pryor, Natural Bridge Station; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila P. and Dennis Staton, Natural Bridge Station and Edith Mae and Jimmy Watts, Poquoson; one son and daughter-in-law, Kevin E. and Terri Pryor, Petersburg, Fla.; one son and girlfriend, Robert B. and Stephanie Tomlin, Natural Bridge Station; a sister, Joyce Secrist, Buena Vista; a brother, Donnie Bates, Ala.; a stepfather, Edward Bates, Buena Vista; a special nephew and wife, John and JoAnne Ellington; three grandchildren; two special great-nephews. WINEBARGER, George Glen, 78, of Marion, died Wednesday, April 27, 1994, in the Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center in Kingsport, Tenn. He was a member of the Falling Water Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Olena Winebarger. Survivors include three sons, Walter G. Winebarger, Mechanicsville, Billy W. Winebarger, Marion, Bobby L. Winebarger, Marion; one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Betty) Jones, Marion; one brother, Marion (Bud) Winebarger, Marion; one sister, Mary Baumgardner, Marion; eight grandchildren, Shannon Winebarger, Mark Winebarger, Gary Winebarger, Beverly Winebarger, Cindy Grant, Tina Ashworth, Sonja Ellis, Sherri Gaver; five great-grandchildren.
