RELAY WIN LIFTS FLEMING IN TRACK

The William Fleming boys' track team warmed up for the Cosmopolitan meet in Salem this weekend by winning the final event to beat Patrick Henry by 2 1/2 points in a triangular track meet Wednesday afternoon. E.C. Glass finished third.

The Colonels' mile relay team of Derrick Bryant, David Harris, Marvin Burris and Rasiq Majied provided the margin of victory on their track.

Patrick Henry's Jamie Price was the top individual. He won the 100- and 220-yard dashes, and ran the second leg on the Patriots' winning 440 relay team.

At William Fleming, Arminta Cosby of Patrick Henry won five events - the high jump, long jump, triple jump, 100 and 200. It wasn't enough to save the Patriots from a loss to powerful E.C. Glass, which won the three-way meet 71-64. Host William Fleming finished with 29 points.

At William Byrd, Christy Hollett won four events as Northside defeated the Terriers 90-36 in a Blue Ridge dual meet. Hollett won the triple jump, high jump, 200 and 400.
