AGNEW TRIES TO STAY ON TRACK AT NRVS

Floyd's Jeff Agnew will be looking for his fourth victory in five starts tonight in the 100-lap Late Model Stock Car race at New River Valley Speedway.

Agnew will be seeking his third consecutive victory in the New River Valley Mall 200 at the Radford track.

Gates open at 2 p.m., with practice at 4 p.m. Qualifying begins at 6:15 p.m., and the first race gets under way at 8 p.m.

Raymond Arrington scored 25 points and Jerron Macadden added 15 as the Roanoke Hawks beat the Richmond Squires 85-81 in the first round of the 14-and-under AAU boys' basketball state tournament at University Hall in Charlottesville.

The Hawks will play Hampton Roads at 1:30 p.m. today in a quarterfinal.
