BLANKENSHIP, George Albert II, 33, of Roanoke, died Friday, April 29, 1994, at his home. He was preceded in death by his father, George A. Blankenship Sr. Surviving are his wife, Marsha O. Blankenship; two children, Amber Nicole Blankenship and Lauren Taylor Blankenship; mother, Frances B. Blankenship, Roanoke; sister and brother-in-law, Lisa B. and Jim Wolfe; niece, Stacey L. Wolfe; nephew, Brian L. Wolfe; mother and father-in-law, Ann and Donald Osborne; two brothers-in-law, Thomas and Ronald Osborne; sister-in-law, LeAnn Osborne, all of Roanoke. Funeral services will be at Oakey's North Chapel, 1 p.m., Monday, May 2, 1994, with Rev. George E. Stephenson officiating. Internment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. BUSH, James R., (``Jimmy""), 32, of Rt. 1, Hardy, died Friday, April 29, 1994, at his home. He was an employee of Graham-White Manufacturing Company. Surviving are his wife, Robin; daughter, Christa; his parents, Homer and Gertrude Bush, Roanoke; a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Glenn Underwood, Roanoke; three nephews; two nieces; mother-in-law, Cathy Bohon; father-in-law, Robert Toler, both of Roanoke; three brothers-in-law, Kenny Toler, Charlotte, N.C., Steve Toler, John Toler, both of Roanoke; special friends, Bunk and Betty Shockley, Bedford County; friends at Graham-White; a special dedicated friend, Larry Thompson, Salem. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Vinton Chapel 10 a.m. Monday, May 2, 1994, with the Rev. Sam Crews officiating. CRAWFORD, Gary Kenneth, 55, of Salem, died Saturday, April 30, 1994 in Lewis Gale Hospital. He was employed with Skyline Cleaners, was their Roanoke Valley Manager and had been with them for 35 years. He was a former Salem Lions Club member. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thelma and Oswald Crawford. Survivors include a foster brother, Leighton Smith of Roanoke; an aunt, Maurene Gearhart of Salem. A funeral service will be held Monday, May 2, 1994 at 2 p.m. at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem with the Rev. Lew Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in the Sherwood Memorial Park. DOSS, Donald Andrew, (Donnie), 43, of Roanoke, died Friday, April 29, 1994. Funeral 3 p.m. Sunday, Collins Funeral Services Chapel, Bassett.

FERGUSON, Elvyn Gay, 89, of Route 4, Gretna, died Friday, April 29, 1994, at her residence. Born November 20, 1904, in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Wil liam Thomas Ferguson and Kate Yeatts Ferguson. Miss Ferguson was a graduate of Gretna High School and received her B.S. degree in Elementary Education from Radford College. She taught school in the Pittsylvania County School system for 49 years. Miss Ferguson was an active member of Midway Baptist Church, joining at the age of 12. She served as choir director and was active in the Young People's Organization (BYPU). Miss Ferguson was secretary and treasurer of the WMU and served as Bible School Director for a number of years, writing out by hand the daily procedure for each department. She taught Sunday School in the Primary Department for more than 50 years. Miss Ferguson is a charter member of the Order of Eastern Star, Gretna, Chapter #118. She lived a life of loyalty and dedication in behalf of others. She is survived by one brother, the Rev. Paul Ferguson of Collinsville; four sisters, Odelle Watlington of Gretna, Ruth Saunders of Shelbyville, Tenn., Dorothy Green of Alexandria, and Garnette Hubbard of Roanoke; 12 nieces and nephews; 23 great-nieces and nephews, and two great-great-nephews. She was predeceased by an older brother, H. Guy Ferguson of Altavista. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday at the Midway Baptist Church by the Dr. Lynn Marstin and the Rev. H. V. Conner. Interment will follow in the Gretna Burial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and, at other times, will be at the residence. Colbert-Moran Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

FIZER, Cora Elizabeth , 86, of Roanoke, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, April 29, 1994. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and a dedicated member of the New Life Temple Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, James Ralph Fizer; and two grandchildren, Donald A. and Dale B. Bartlett. She is survived by sons, James R. Jr. and Robert E. Fizer, both of Roanoke; sons and daughters-in-law, Ray W. and Shirley Fizer, Winter Haven, Fla., Charles W. and Peggy Fizer, Vinton; daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth E. and Don Barrows, Goodview, Mary F. and Morrell Bayse, Blue Ridge, Nancy L. and James Daniel, Roanoke, Carolyn V. and Donnie Croy, Winter Haven, Fla.; one brother, William F. Mabry, Dublin; two sisters, Dorothy Miles, Radford, Victoria Sarver, Dublin; beloved granddaughter, Brenda G. Daniel; very special daughter-in-law, Peggy (Darnell) Fizer; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at New Life Temple Pentecostal Holiness Church, 5745 Airport Rd. N.W., 2 p.m., Monday, May 2, 1994, with Rev. Glennard Quesenberry and Rev. Walter L. GODSEY, William Edward, 80, of Roanoke, passed away at his home Friday, April 29, 1994, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was a native of Lynchburg and was preceded in death by his parents, James Henry and Ada Lee Godsey. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and before retirement was sales representative for White Spot Supply Co. He was a member of Grandin Court Baptist Church, American Legion Post 248 and Hidden Valley Country Club. Surviving are his wife, Ruby Watts Godsey; daughter, Patty Booth, Conway, S.C.; son, Edward Godsey, Madison Heights, Va.; grandsons, William Booth, Hedgesville, W.Va. and David Booth, Roanoke; a sister and brother-in-law, Ada Lee and Beverly Johnson, Lynchburg, and a number of nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Cecile McAlister of Long Beach, Calif. Services will be held at Oakey's South Chapel, 1 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Carol Johnston will officiate. Burial will be at Fort Hill Memorial Park, Lynchburg, at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice, 3825 Electric Rd., Suite A, Roanoke, VA 24018, or Grandin Court Baptist Church, 2660 Brambleton Ave., S.W., Roanoke, VA 24015. GRENKE, Auguste, 82, of Blacksburg, formerly of Toledo, Ohio, died Friday, April 29, 1994, at the home of her daughter. Mrs. Grenke was born in Germany on December 21, 1911, a daughter of the late Eduard Krueger and Auguste Kurtz Krueger. Survivors include her husband, Gustav Grenke, Meadowbrook Nursing Home, Shawsville; one daughter and son-in-law, Erna and Konrad Kubin, Blacksburg; three grandchildren, Anita Kubin, Blacksburg, Dennis Kubin, Salem, Brian Kubin, Germany; one niece and spouse, Alva and Robert Hirzel, Rossford, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., Monday, May 2, at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church with the Rev. Gary Schroeder officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. KENT, Henri E., 71, of Toccoa, Ga., formerly of Gainesville, Ga., died late Thursday night, April 28, 1994 in the Carl Vinson V.A. Medical Center, Dublin, Ga. He was born in Fayetteville, N.C. on October 25, 1922 and he was the son of the late John S. Kent Sr. and Henrietta Evans Kent. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. army and he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Watts Kent. Surviving are daughter, Mrs. Catherine Walker, Toccoa, Ga.; brother, Claude Kent, Columbus, Ga.; two grandchildren, Cecil Joseph Walker Jr., Mary Elizabeth Walker, both of Toccoa, Ga. A graveside service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from the Draper's Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Pulaski County, with the Rev. Preston O. Sartelle Jr. officiating. LEWIS, Virgil E., 72, of Roanoke, died Friday, April 29, 1994, at the VA Medical Center, Salem. He was a member of New Dan River Primitive Baptist Church; a World War II veteran, 5th Army Corps of Engineers, having received the Purple Heart and Oak Leaf Cluster. Surviving are his wife, Lucille B. Lewis; son and daughter-in-law, Robert Walter and Patty Lewis, Roanoke; daughter and son-in-law, Alisa and Jim Ruesch, Baltimore, Md.; two grandsons, David Lewis and Jakob Ruesch; one brother, Robert Vee Lewis, Martinsville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's South Chapel 11 a.m. Monday, May 2, 1994, with Elder W. T. Conner officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. LOWMAN, Virginia Eanes, 87, of New Castle, died Wednesday, April 27, 1994. She was the daughter of Virginia Spicer Sixeas and Otey William Eanes. Mr. Eanes was editor of the New Castle Record for 48 years. She was the granddaughter of Virginia Pennell Henning and the Rev. Philip S. E. Sixeas. The Rev. Sixeas was the first pastor of the New Castle Methodist Church South between 1894 and 1896. She is survived by her daughter, Ginny Olmer of New Castle and grandson, Paul Olmer of Baltimore, Md. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, at the Boitnott Funeral Home. A graveside service will be conducted by the Rev. David Breeden 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, in Westview Cemetery.

LUDWICK, Dulaney M., 62, of Tom Brook, Va., died Saturday, April 30, 1994 in the Winchester Medical Center. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Rheba Ludwick. Surviving are three sisters, Lucille Calhaun of Stephens City, Va., Eleanor Hodges of Roanoke, Dorothy Horsley of Lake Worth, Fla. Mr. Ludwick was a nationally known pianist and had played for President's Truman, Kennedy and Carter at the White House. LYNCH, Mary Elizabeth, (Lizzie), 81, of Route 7, Rocky Mount, died Saturday, April 30, 1994 in a Roanoke hospital. She was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church for over 50 years. Mrs. Lynch was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfonzo Hodges, her husband, Mr. Edgar Lynch and a son, Mr. James E. Lynch. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Alfred and Lillie Lynch, Glenn W. and Frances Lynch, Jimmy and Rhonda Lynch, all of Rocky Mount, Alfonzo and Gloria Lynch, Bassett; a daughter and sons-in-law, Peggy and Paul Foley, Stuart; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Elsie and Lucky Jordan, Portsmouth, Doris Bussey, Norfolk.
