CUNDIFF LEADS ALL THE WAY IN FCS WIN

Rodney Cundiff was the flag-to-flag leader in the 100-lap Late Model Stock feature of the Hardee's/Big Brothers-Big Sisters 300 on Saturday night at Franklin County Speedway.

The victory was Cundiff's second in two weeks, and the Boones Mill driver extended his laps-led streak to 200. Cundiff has raced three of the five nights this season at the track, yet he is seventh in the points race.

"I think you've got to go back to 1984 since we won two weeks in a row," Cundiff said.

Cundiff's most serious challenge came from Kenny Wagner, who passed Carl Dadian on a restart on lap 77 and finished second. Dadian continued his strong showings and placed third.

In other races Saturday night:

Mini Stock points leader Steve Lam, from Blue Ridge, won his third race of the season. Chris Martin and Gary Joyce finished second and third, respectively.

Mike Dudley outran Leon Dalton in a three-lap sprint after a restart to win the Street Stock race. Dalton passed fading Dale Marlowe on lap 21 for second. Lonnie Foley, making his first 1994 appearance, finished third.

Ashley Wimmer was a first-time winner in the Pure Stock division, holding off points leader Red Hartman in a spirited finish. Jay Peery was third.

Travis Sharpe, 13, won his second Rookie race this year, nearly lapping the field. Second-place finisher James Hunt was 11 seconds behind. Tony Perdue took third.

Floyd's Dean Sutphin was the Any Car winner, as 11 cars were unable to finish the 25 laps. Clayton Gibson finished second, and Ernest Hylton was third.
