Aaron Dixon, 36, was charged with sodomy and taking liberties with a 16-year-old boy on several occasions between November 1993 and Jan. 30. Dixon's trial is to begin June 27 in Lynchburg Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
Many of the incidents took place at Opportunity House in Lynchburg, a group home for juvenile offenders, where Dixon worked as a part-time, paid counselor. The victim was a resident of the home, placed there after he was convicted of the aggravated sexual battery of a child in Amherst County, according to court testimony.
At least three of the alleged sexual encounters occurred at Huddleston Elementary School in Bedford County, where Dixon was a principal from 1987 until his resignation in February.
Bedford County officials have filed additional sexual molestation charges against Dixon in the county's Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. A hearing to decide whether the preliminary proceedings will be open to the public is set for 3 p.m. today.
