Keith returned to work Monday. He had surgery March 21 because part of a benign tumor that was operated on in 1992 grew back.
Keith said the surgery went so well that radiation treatments, which were planned to follow the surgery, were not necessary.
Keith's tumor was discovered in 1983, and for eight years he had no serious problems. But in 1992, Keith decided to have surgery after developing a limp and experiencing some numbness on his left side. Most of the benign tumor was removed then.
Keith used accrued vacation time for the six weeks he was off.
Keith said he wanted to thank everyone for their good wishes while he was recuperating. "I got covered up with calls and cards and everything. People were so nice."
