2 ARRESTED FROM RADFORD MOST-WANTED LIST

Willie Jack Dalton, one of several people named to Radford police's new most wanted list last month, is in custody.

Dalton, 20, was picked up by Montgomery County deputies while he was working at a construction site last Friday, Radford's Deputy Chief Jonny Butler said.

Radford police were looking for Dalton because he had outstanding charges of grand larceny, breaking and entering, petty larceny and a bench warrant for failing to appear for trial.

Dalton is being held in the Montgomery County Jail.

He was the second person arrested since Radford Police established the most wanted list. The list was created after Radford officers read about Wythe County Sheriff Wayne Pike's establishing one.

Radford is still searching for these people:

Julian Cox, 30, formerly of Willow Woods Apartments in Radford. A bench warrant charges him with failing to appear in court to answer to three charges of forging and uttering and two misdemeanor bad check charges.

Frederick L. Hodges, 23, also formerly of Willow Woods. The police said there is a bench warrant for his arrest to show cause why his probation should not be revoked. Hodges had previously been convicted of grand larceny in the theft of a car stereo.

An unknown man who is wanted for questioning in what police characterize as a check kiting scheme in the New River Valley that may have ranged from Florida to Pennsylvania.

Anyone with information about any of these cases may call the Radford Police Department at 731-3624. The department's crime line number is 731-3627.
