Joey Showalter became a named partner after Hamrick left the firm to open his own office in Christiansburg in the building formerly occupied by John Quigley, who recently became a judge for the 27th Judicial District.
Showalter, who serves as the firm's managing partner, has been with the law firm for about three years. Before that, he shared a partnership with Kendall Clay.
Showalter, who was born and raised in Christiansburg, returned to the area six years ago after practicing law in Florida, where he remains licensed.
