GENERALS, MAROONS HONORED IN LACROSSE

The Old Dominion Athletic Conference honored four women's lacrosse players from Roanoke and two from Washington and Lee on the all-conference first team Thursday.

For the Maroons, who won the ODAC championship last week, Jen Shimrak, Francesca Foord-Kelcy, Kerry Campbell and Kathleen Ostar earned first-team honors.

Angie Carrington and Carrie Niederer were voted to the first team for the Generals, who also placed Lindsay Coleman, Nicole Ripken and Dana Cornell on the second team.

Bridgewater's Nicki Keeney was voted player of the year, and Anne Van Heuven of Randolph-Macon was the league's coach of the year.
