ART AUCTION BRINGS IN MORE THAN $6,000

An art auction held to raise money for the Fine Arts Center of the New River Valley brought in more than $6,000.

Michael Dowell, executive director of the center, said that amount was tabulated before expenses for Saturday's fund-raiser at the Woman's Club Annex were deducted. The total for the expenses is not yet known.

The program was so successful that it may become an annual event, Dowell said.
