SOAP STAR TO SHED SOME LOCAL 'LIGHT'

Will Bridget get her baby back? Will her relationship with Dylan, the adoptive mother's stepson, sour when she does? Or can Dylan choose between his family and the woman he loves?

Will Reva, Dylan's mother, whom we last saw taking a dive off a bridge in a car, return to the show now that Josh Lewis seems to be through with Tangie?

Fans of "Guiding Light," the long-running CBS soap opera, can ask Morgan Englund - aka Dylan Shayne Lewis - those questions and many more Saturday when he comes to the New River Valley Mall to sign autographs and have lunch with a few lucky contest winners.

Englund, the son of actress Cloris Leachman and writer/producer George Englund, joined Guiding Light in 1989. In those five years, his character has managed to avoid marriage but has fathered a child that was adopted before he came to town. He made it to the altar once only to find out his intended, Julie, had slept with her ex-beau Hart the night before.

And who told him this? Bridget, his new lady love. Bridget, whose baby's father is Hart.

Confused? Let Englund sort it out for you Saturday. But tough luck, ladies. Unlike his character, Englund is married.

Englund will have lunch with the contest winners then hold a Q&A session for 30 minutes starting at 1 p.m. Then it's autograph time for an hour. After that, he'll answer questions for another half-hour.

"Guiding Light" premiered on radio in 1937 and on television in 1952.

Englund decided to pursue acting after performing as a member of the chorus in a college production of the musical "Pippin."
