CELANESE REVAMPS MANAGEMENT

Hoechst Celanese Corp., Somerville, N.J., operator of a cigarette-filter fibers plant at Narrows, said Thursday it has realigned the corporation's management structure, effective May 1.

Ernest Drew, formerly president and chief executive officer, has been named chairman. He will remain chief executive officer and will lead a task force to review the structure and business processes of the Hoechst Group, based in Frankfurt, Germany.

William Harris, formerly president of the corporation's textile fibers business, will assume responsibility for Hoechst worldwide fibers. May 1, he was appointed senior vice president of Hoechst Celanese and will oversee its fibers and polyester resins and films businesses and its Mexican subsidiary, Celanese Mexicana.
