BOWES, Nannie Largen, (``Faye''), 68, of Roanoke, died Thursday, May 5, 1994. She was an employee of Halmode Apparel Company. Mrs. Bowes was the widow of Harry Edselle Bowes Sr. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and James Thompson, Roanoke; sons and daughter-in-law, Harry E. Bowes Jr., Johnson City, Tenn., Blanchard J. and Betty Bowes, William Lee Bowes, all of Roanoke; two sisters, Martha Janney, Roanoke, Lula Mae Stump, Giles County; brothers, William Largen, Dublin, Walter Largen, Madison, Wisc.; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren. BRINKLEY, Beryl Jackson, 54, of Roanoke, Va. formerly of Wyoming County, W.Va. died Wednesday, May 4, 1994, at his home following a long illness. Born December 21, 1939, at Herndon, W.Va. in Wyoming County, he was the son of the late Arnial Brinkley and Reba ``Brown'' Brinkley of Oceana, W.Va. Mr. Brinkley had been a resident of Roanoke, Va. for the past 25 years. He was a 1985 graduate of Oceana High School in Oceana, W.Va., worked for the Ingersol-Rand Company as an assembly man, and was a member of the Roanoke Moose Lodge. Preceding him in death in addition to his father is one sister, Norma Amburgy. Survivors include his mother, Reba ``Brown'' Brinkley of Oceana, W.Va.; a devoted and dedicated fiancee, Debra Meade, of Roanoke, Va.; two sons, Toney and Todd Brinkley of Roanoke, Va.; one daughter, Tammy Hutchinson of Roanoke, Va.; three grandchildren; four sisters, Joyce Cawley of Vinton, Va.; Kathleen Cooper and Dana Mullens both of Oceana, W.Va. and Patricia Vance of Justice, W.Va.; three brothers, Harold Brinkley of Roanoke, Va., Danny and Robert Brinkley of Oceana, W.Va. Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Evans Memorial Chapel in Oceana, W.Va. with the Rev. Johnny Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Palm Memorial Gardens at Matheny, W.Va. DOWDY, Geneva, 85, of Pearisburg, died Thursday, May 5, 1994 in a Richmond, Va. hospital. She had been making her home recently with her children in the Richmond area. Mrs. Dowdy was the daughter of the late Will and Eva Dowdy Songer, the wife of the late Theodore Gilbert Dowdy and the mother of the late Theodore McDonald Dowdy. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at New River Ward in Pembroke. Surviving are three sons, McKinley Dowdy, Richmond, Freddie Dowdy, Christiansburg, Sidney Dowdy, Christiansburg; five daughters, Ella M. Harrison, Rebecca H. Morris and Jacqueline A. Nichols, all of Richmond, Norma Butler, Baltimore, Md., and Dora Jean Snider, Pembroke; two brothers, Wirt Songer, Pembroke, and Richard Songer, Newport; two sisters, Beatrice Williams, Blacksburg, and Irene Smith, Newport; 25 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. POPE, Elizabeth, age 66, of Wytheville died Wednesday May 5, 1994 at Brandon Oaks, Roanoke. Born in Wythe County, she received her RN from George Ben Johnson Memorial School of Nursing, Abingdon, and attended Lincoln Memorial University and Richmond Professional Institute. She served as an office in the United States Diagnostic Laboratory. She was a member of the West end United Methodist Church and was the Daughter of the late B.F. and Pearl S. Pope. She is survived by four brothers and sisters-in-law; W.E. and Audrey S. Pope, Windsor, Va., B.F. Jr., and Patsy P. Pope , Fayetteville, N.C., John J. and Emily S. Pope, Moneta, Thomas J. and Elizabeth Pope, Pulaski.; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Ruth P. and Robert C. Holston, Max Meadows, Anna Belle Pope, Roanoke; four nephews, four nieces and five great-nieces also survive. Funeral services will be Saturday 2 p.m. in the chapel of the the Grubb Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. Mrs. Ann Blair, with the interment to following the West Ends Cemetery.
