On a day when gusting winds sent scores soaring, Funderburke and Stinnette were the only team to break 70 on the par-72, 6,906-yard Smith Mountain Lake course.
Funderburke, the 1993 Valley Amateur runner-up, and his Blue Hills partner finished with a 7-under 137 total.
Tazewell's Charlie Green and reigning State Amateur champion David Partridge of Richmond, who shared the first-round lead at 68 with Funderburke and Stinnette, shot 70 and finished one shot back.
Lexington's David Brogan and J.W. Entsminger slipped to a 73 Sunday and finished tied for third at 142 with Steve Castro and David Knorr of Reston.
The Saratoga Springs, N.Y., duo of Bill Snyder and Dom Istorico finished six shots back at 143, tied for fifth with Jack Trussell and Tom Mortensen of the host club.
Dave Snyder of Water's Edge and Robert Toney of Lynchburg were runaway winners in the Senior division. Snyder-Toney shot 72-71, good for a nine-shot cushion over second-place Ned Baber and Arman Fletcher of Roanoke, who shot 73-79.
The two-man best-ball tournament attracted a field of 44 teams - 38 in the open division, six in the Senior division.
