Merchants will start selling the blue, pink and yellow ducks to customers for $1 each. Customers will write their names and telephone numbers on the ducks with waterproof markers and bring them to the duck race during the Pulaski train station dedication day activities.
This particular activity will be a race between two bridges in town. All of the entered plastic ducks will be put into the water at the same time and scooped up as they reach the second bridge downstream.
Prizes of $100, $50 and $25 will go to the people whose names are on the first three ducks to be captured in nets at the downstream bridge.
The Alliance meets for an hour each month to plan downtown business promotions, fund-raising ventures and other activities aimed at bringing more business to Pulaski.
Its members are seeking representation not only from businesses in the downtown area but also from those located elsewhere in the community.
