PEARISBURG - All Giles County residents and business people are invited to the new office of the Giles County Chamber of Commerce on Thursday. The office at 101 S. Main St. will be open all day, and food and refreshments will be provided by Pizza Plus after 5 p.m.
Women Business Owners conference
CHRISTIANSBURG - A Women Business Owners conference is being held at The Farmhouse Restaurant on May 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Called "Gaining the Competitive Edge," the event will include seminars by women business leaders from across the state, and a luncheon address by motivational speaker Donna R. Tyson of D.R. Tyson Management in Fredericksburg. Tyson will focus on issues that can "encourage productivity and help create momentum."
The conference costs $50 per person, and registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at The Farmhouse on Tuesday. Sponsors of the conference are Central Fidelity National Bank, the Blue Ridge Regional Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners and the New River Valley Small Business Development Center.
