BALDWIN, David Carson Sr., 86, of Sarasota, Fla., died Tuesday, May 10, 1994. Funeral 3 p.m. Friday, Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, Tazewell. Arrangements by Barnett Funeral Home, Wytheville.

BURNLEY, Leslie William Sr., 80, of Roanoke, passed away Tuesday evening, May 10, 1994. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and was retired from General Electric Company with 44 years service. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Leslie William Jr. and Ann McCathern Burnley, Roanoke, David Mark and Deborah Yerman Burnley, Richmond; two grandchildren, Marc and Kara Burnley, Roanoke. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday from Christ Lutheran Church, with Pastor Mark Wm. Radecke officiating. Interment will be in Clifton, N.J. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the YMCA of the Roanoke Valley Endowment Trust Fund (425 Church Ave., Roanoke, VA 24016). Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, where the family will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

BUSH, Mary McGhee, 88, of Roanoke, died Wednesday, May 11, 1994, is now resting and at peace after a long illness with Alzheimer's Disease. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luke L. Bush Sr. and her daughter, Marie B. Conner. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Leonard L. and Kathryn Bush, Hardy, Elmer W. Bush and Delmer L. Bush both of Roanoke; daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy B. and Ralph Parsons of Roanoke, Dianne B. Carpenter of Roanoke; numerous brothers and sisters; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Jerry L. Cloninger Jr. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, at the Lotz Roanoke Chapel and memorials may be made to the Mount Pleasant Rescue Squad.

CROWLEY, Richard B.,(Dick), 80, of Clarksburg, W.Va., formerly of Roanoke, died Wednesday, May 11, 1994. Dick was founder and former president of Crowley News Company and was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Margaret Crowley. Surviving are his wife, Irene Crowley; a daughter, Mary (Bunny) Souders, Florence, S.C.; his sons, Richard B. Crowley Jr., Thomas Crowley, both of Clarksburg, W.Va.; his brother, Bob Crowley, Roanoke; several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Saturday, May 14 at 10 a.m. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Clarksburg, W.Va. EVANS, Bruce A., M.D., of Spokane, Wash., died Tuesday, May 10, 1994. He was a member and former elder of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church. He was a World War II Veteran and a flight surgeon at Fairchild Air Force Base during the Korean Conflict. Dr. Evans was a 1943 graduate of the School of Pharmacy University of Idaho and a 1947 graduate of George Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Evans served his internship and residency at St. Luke's Hospital. Later he became President of the hospital staff and taught pharmacy at St. Luke's School of Nursing. In June of 1985 he retired from private practice after 38 years. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Bevoline Flora Evans; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and David Ellis, Anchorage, Alaska; one son, Andy Evans, Spokane, Wash.; two brothers; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Buford and Earleen Flora, Boones Mill. Memoria l services will be conducted at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, Spokane, Wash. 11 a.m. Friday, May 13, 1994. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

GUTHRIE, Charles Buford, 85, of Route 1, Callaway, died Wednesday, May 11, 1994 in the local hospital. He was the former owner of Shangri-La Motel in Roanoke. Surviving are his daughter, Cynthia (Cindy) Bell, Roanoke; two grandchildren, Tracy Lynn Roberts, Maile Elizabeth Early; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Allie Prillaman, Roanoke and Isabel Poteat, Newport News; special nephew and wife, Cecil and Bevelyne Prillaman, Callaway; several other nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel, 2 pm, Friday, with the Rev. C. Richard Slider officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park, Salem. HUBBARD, Samuel Allen, 75, of Troutville, died Tuesday night, May 10, 1994, at his home. He was a member of Peters Creek Old German Baptist Church. He was a retired farmer and was well known in his community. Surviving are his wife, Janie Bowman Hubbard; five children and their spouses, Mary Jane Skiles, Wirtz, Betty and Steve Garber, Rocky Mount, Ann and Mark DeMaury, Troutville, Robert and Susan Hubbard, Troutville, Myrtle and David Montgomery, Wirtz; 16 grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted from Peters Creek Old German Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 1994, with the Home Brethren officiating. Burial will be in Peters Creek Cemetery. HUNTER, Rodney B., 74, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, May 10, 1994. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Hudgins Hunter and his mother, Irene B. Hunter. Surviving are a stepdaughter, Sharon Keys of Richmond; stepgranddaughter, Nikki Saunders of Roanoke; stepgreat-granddaughter, Meredyth Saunders; brother-in-law, Earl Hudgins of Salem; sister-in-law, Anne Stone of North Wilkesboro, N.C.; also a number of nieces and nephews. KRANTZ, Samuel Bennett, 80, of Huddleston, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 1994, at his residence. He was born February 4, 1914 in Bedford County, a son of the late Joseph Lee Krantz and Mary Maxey Krantz. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and was a member of the Huddleston United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Lena Stevens Krantz; thee sons and daughters-in-law, Earl E. and Brenda Krantz Sr., Lynch Station; Larry Glenn and Sandy Krantz, Gretna, Timothy D. and Sandra Krantz, Moneta; two sisters, Gusta K. Crouch, Huddleston, Juanita K. Arthur, Bedford; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. He was born in Wythe County, the son of the late James Monroe and Rebecca Dorthula Williams Rose. He was a member of the Ft. Chiswell United Methodist Church, and was retired from the Radford Army Ammunition Plant. He is survived by his wife, Dora Riggins Rose; two daughters and sons-in-law, Juanita R. and Robert L. Moore, Vinton, Violet R. and Larry Liddle, Rt. 3, Wytheville; one son and daughter-in-law, James Jonathan and Susie Rose, Max Meadows; one sister, Gladys R.
