DURHAM RALLY TOPPLES BUCS

Marty Malloy ripped a two-out, two-run double to cap a four-run ninth inning and send the Durham Bulls to a 6-5 victory over the Salem Buccaneers on Wednesday night in a Carolina League baseball game at Durham Athletic Park.

Salem (14-19) led 5-2 after scoring a run in the ninth, but Durham (13-20) roughed up Buccaneers closer Marc Pisciotta for three hits.

With one out, Tom Waldrop walked, Pisciotta made a throwing error on a Ray Nunez grounder and Brad Rippelmeyer singled to load the bases. Wonderful Monds knocked in two runs with a single, and Adrian Garcia struck out for the second out.

Malloy took an 0-2 fastball from Pisciotta and lashed it to right field for the game-winning two-base hit.
