Entries are sought for benefit golf tourney
Entries are now being accepted for the third annual Kroger Tanglewood Golf Tournament at Hanging Rock Golf Course on June 15.
The tournament benefits the Turning Point Shelter of the Roanoke Valley, a shelter for abused women and children.
The entry fee is $250 per team, with morning and afternoon tee times available. Trophies will be presented to the top three teams for each tee time, and prizes will be awarded for longest drive and closest to the pin for each tee time, as well as a car for the first hole-in-one.
Refreshments will be served, and lunch will be provided from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Winners announced in slow pitch tournament
Several Roanoke Valley teams recently placed in the the 14th Annual Chance Crawford Slowpitch Softball Tournament.
In the men's B division, the Coca-Cola team from Roanoke received third place. In the men's C division, the H.I.T./Allstate Insurance team from Roanoke placed first. In the men's recreation division, The Storm from Salem received second place, and City of Salem employees team finished third.
Clark's Feed and Seed from Roanoke was first in the women's C division.
