WORLD WAR II MEMORABILIA REQUESTED

The National D-Day Memorial Foundation is looking for photographs, correspondence and other artifacts which could be copied for inclusion in a time capsule to be buried at Roanoke's War Memorial.

Earlier stories said that John Will Creasy, a Roanoke veteran and artist, would be one contact for those wanting to make donations. Creasy, however, is ill and should not be called regarding donations.

Instead, anyone wanting to donate to the time capsule should contact Bob Slaughter at 989-6512.

Donations of artifacts and memorabilia also are being accepted for inclusion in a World War II exhibit at the Roanoke Valley History Museum at Center in the Square. Anyone wanting to donate to that exhibit can call Slaughter or the museum at 342-5770.
