TWO ROANOKERS PLACE IN LITERARY CONTEST

Two Roanoke residents were recently awarded prizes at the 76th annual Irene Leache Literary Contest in Norfolk.

Lucy Ferriss won first prize for her short story entitled "Rumpelstiltskin."

Richard Raymond won a second place prize for the light verse piece, "Where is Ogden Nash, Now That We Need Him?"

Ferris and Raymond were chosen from 1000 participants in the contest.
