Jeffrey Dahmer, slayer of 17 males, was baptized in prison this week after telling a minister he wanted his "sins washed away."

The Rev. Roy Ratcliff of the Madison (Wis.) Church of Christ, said he immersed the mass murderer Tuesday in an infirmary whirlpool in the Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, accompanied by a chaplain and two guards.

Ratcliff said that when he met with Dahmer, 33, on April 20, he "was able to convince me this was not just a gag. I was convinced that he wanted God in his life."
