\ Jake Austin's two-run homer in the top of the 11th inning lifted the Salem Buccaneers to a 6-4 victory over the Durham Bulls on Thursday night in a Carolina League baseball game at Durham Athletic Park.
Daryl Ratliff led off the 11th with a single off Matt Byrd (1-2), and Austin homered just inside the right-field foul pole, near the 305-foot mark.
The two-run shot gave the victory to Jason Abramaviscius (1-0), who pitched five innings of scoreless relief.
Rich Townsend struck out two in the bottom of the 11th to record his first save.
Durham starter Mike D'Andrea pitched five innings of no-hit ball before spraining an ankle while fielding a grounder.
Salem, scoreless through six innings, scored three times in the seventh and tied the score at 4 in the eighth on a single by Ratliff, who had three hits.
Ratliff finished 3-for-5 with an RBI. \
