MW WORKERS REJECT UNION AGAIN

Workers at MW Manfacturing Inc. in Rocky Mount on Thursday rejected for the second time in as many years an attempt to unionize the company's workforce. In a certification election by the National Labor Relations Board, MW workers voted 511 to 295 against representation by the United Brotherhood of Carpeters and Joiners , according to the company's lawyer, Raymond R. Robrecht of Salem. He said MW workers voted against the union in 1992.

Neither company nor union officials could be reached Thursday for comment. MW. a unit of Hanson Plc., makes windows and patio doors.
