Armentrout, a pharmacist, has owned and managed his business, now called "The Medicine Shoppe," for 26 years. He has served as a director on the chamber board, on the Main Street Radford board and on the St. Albans Psychiatric Hospital board.
The award goes to a business person who has displayed entrepreneurship, innovation or management skills, who has displayed leadership within the business or professional community, and who has been involved in civic activities.
Also Thursday, the chamber named Charles Fretwell the winner of its education support award.
Fretwell, a charter member of the Radford High School Foundation formed in 1986, has served as its board vice chairman since then.
He has served as chairman of the foundation's fund-raising committee, which has helped to raise more than $100,000 in endowments which have been used to fund classroom projects for students in elementary and high school.
Robert Skunda, state secretary of commerce and trade, spoke at the dinner.
