WSLS-TV, of course, expected to get some complaints because the station had pre-empted a couple of soaps to provide live coverage of the big bike race's debut in the Roanoke Valley. (It had arranged to air the pre-empted shows at 2:05 a.m. and 3:05 a.m. Tuesday so true devotees could stay up to watch them or tape them for daytime viewing.)
What it hadn't expected was that it would get as many, if not more, complaints from males as from females about the missing soaps.
Thus, another stereotype down the tube. Real men do eat quiche, too.
