ANDERSON, Florence Jane Saville, 90, of Lexington, Va., died Sunday, May 15, 1994, in the Mayflower Retirement Center. Mrs. Anderson was born in Rockbridge Co., Va., on June 8, 1903, a daughter of the late Robert Lucian Saville and Annie Lee Hotinger Saville. She was the widow of Nelson Stokes Anderson. Mrs. Anderson was a life member of the Oxford Presbyterian Church, Past President of the Women of the Church, a Sunday School teacher, Past President of Murat Women's Club, The Palmer Home Demonstration Club, registrar at the Hamilton School Precinct for many years, and a member of the D.A.R. Frontier Chapter. Surviving are a son, Dr. Clinton L. Anderson, Lexington; and two grandsons, Michael Nelson Anderson and John Stuart Anderson. Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside on Wednesday, May 18, 19 94, at 4 p.m. in the Oxford Presbyterian Cemetery with Rev. Barton Hellmuth officiating. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Oxford Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 7 until 8 p.m. at the Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington.
BENDER, Viola R., 75, of Roanoke, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 1994, in Our Lady of the Valley Nursing Home. She is survived by two nieces, Mrs. Dorothy Blakey of Florida, Mrs. Janet Siddoway of Utah. Services will be held at the Zion Lutheran Church, located in Akron, Ohio, Miss Bender's home for 57 years. It is suggested by the family that her many dear friends in Roanoke may wish to remember ""Vi"" by donating to their favorite charity.

HARMAN, Martha Edgar Hubble, 104, of Salem, and formerly of Welch, W.Va., died Sunday, May 15, 1994 in a local nursing home. Mrs. Harman was born April 28, 1890 in Tazewell County, Va. and was a member of Trinity Temple, Welch, W.Va. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burrell Blair Harman and a son, Burrell Blair Harman III. Surviving is a daughter-in-law, Velma R. Harman of Cloverdale, with whom she made her home for 43 years; a daughter, Ruth H. Mr. Hostetter was born in Rockbridge Co., Va. on February 12, 1923, a son of the late Guy Abner Hostetter and Nannie Elliot Hostetter. He was a member of the Collierstown United Methodist Church, Lexington, and owned and operated the Hostetter Grocery Store for a number of years. Surviving are his wife, Mary Lamona Hostetter, Lexington; one son, Guy Edward Hostetter II, Pasadena, Md.; one brother, Samuel Palmer Hostetter, Westminster, Md.; one sister, Frances Hostetter Bright, Hanover, Md; and one grandson, Guy Edward Hostetter III. KEISTER, Elsie Williams, formerly of the Bristol House, Bristol, Va., died Monday morning, May 16, 1994, at Richfield Nursing Center. She was the widow of Lawrence Waldo Keister; daughter of the late James Williams and Salona Grim Williams, Roanoke. Mrs. Keister was a graduate of Radford College, and taught school in Roanoke and Bristol City Schools. Having spent many years in Bristol, she was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Bristol. Surviving are a son, Waldo Williams Keister, Fredericksburg; daughter, Jane K. Turman, Roanoke; two grandchildren, J. Kimberly T. Ranken, Haure de Grace, Md., and Christopher Lawrence Turman, Roanoke. Graveside services will be held in Evergreen Burial Park at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 1994, with the Rev. H e was born in Bedford County, May 18, 1940, a son of Arneda Craighead Mitchell and the late Walker Davis Mitchell Sr. He was retired owner of Howard and Mitchell Fuel Oil, Inc., and an Army veteran. Va. on January 23, 1913, a son of the late George Parrish and Nettie Hutchinson Parrish. He retired after a number of years from the Farrier Paving Company in Staunton, and had served in World War II in the Medical Corp. SMITH, Clytie Hylton, 92, of Norfolk, Va., a former resident of Princeton, W. Va. and Pulaski, Va., died Sunday in a Norfolk hospital. Born in Floyd Co., Va., she was the daughter of the late Joseph M. and Melinda E. Marshall Hylton. She was a retired beautician. She was a 50 year member of the Princeton Chapter #53, Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Pulaski. She moved from Princeton to Pulaski in 1951, and to Norfolk in 1993. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William G. Damron in 1924, and her second husband,Early Smith in 1974; one sister and three brothers. Survivors include two sons, William G. Damron of Norfolk, Va. and Robert A. Damron of Jacksonville, Fla., one sist er, Canary Dyer of Princeton; 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m.. Wednesday at Monte Vista Park Cemetery in Green Valley with Rev. Gene Harman officiating. Friends may call at the George W. He was retired from the West Virginia Public School System, with 40 years of service, a member of Bonsack United Methodist Church, a Mason, and past president of Blue Ridge Golden Age Club. Surviving are three grandchildren, Michael C. Walls, and Jeffrey L. Walls, both of Atlanta, Ga., Mark H. Walls, Augusta, Ga.; three sisters, Gladys Hatfield, Charleston, W. Va., Nell Stearns, Southport, N. C., Ilean Sebastian, Algonac, Mich.; and a number of nieces and nephews. There will be a visitation at Oakey's Vinton Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 1994. A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 1994 at the chapel of Evans & Evans Funeral Home in Oceana, W. Va. Burial will be in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, W. Va.
