CYPHERS, Donald Leigh, (``Don""), 47, of Roanoke, passed away Monday, May 16, 1994. He was preceded in death by his father, Larron Lindsay Cyphers and his mother, Pheroby Shaver Cyphers of Roanoke. Survivors include a brother, Lynn Cyphers; a sister, Cynthia Cyphers; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Cyphers; and a niece, Amanda Blair Cyphers, all of Roanoke. He was the owner and operator of Drum Reconditioning and Recycling of Roanoke. A graveside service will be held at Sherwood Memorial Park 4 p.m. Thursday, May 19. Friends and family may call at Oakey's Downtown Chapel on Wednesday 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday 12 to 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Heart Association.

ADAMS, Maude Lee Nicewander, 92, of Pulaski, passed away Monday, May 16, 1994. Funeral 2 p.m. Thursday, Bower Funeral Chapel.

CRONISE, Emmett, George 84, of Valley Ridge Rd., Covington, Va., died, Tuesday, May 17, 1994 at his residence. He was born in Botetourt Co.(Springwood) on December 26, 1909, son of the late Charlie and Susie Housman Cronise. He was a retired signalman for the C & O Railway Company and a member of the Low Moor Presbyterian Church and Elder Emeritus. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Hall Cronise, Covington, two daughters, Mrs. William (Doris) Averill of Low Moor and Mrs. Thurman (Brenda) Brackenridge of Clifton Forge, one son; Kenneth Roger Cronise of Clifton Forge, two sisters; Mrs. Anne Bailey of Astor Park, Florida and Mrs. Marie Armentrout of Covington; two brothers, Charlie Cronise of Fincastle and Roy Cronise of Roanoke, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday-11a.m., Nicely Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bob Miles and Rev. John Crosslin officiating, interment to follow in the Alleghany Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Bucky Webb, Douglas Hylton, Richard Terrell, Joe Collins, Joe Watts and James Rollison. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, Va.

HURT, James H., 64, of Richmond, died Monday May 16, 1994. He is survived by his mother, Mary Virginia Hurt; a sister and her husband, Rebecca and Audie Ray Dyers, a sister Donna Gillispie Baxter, all of Baltimore, a brother and his wife, Muriel A. and Thelma Hurt of Roanoke, nieces, nephews, and a very dear friend, Margie True of Richmond. Mr. Hurt was retired from the Army National Guard with 41years of service. Remains rest at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. where the family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. Wednesday. Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Washington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.,

McGhee, Taylor Early, 98, of Roanoke, formerly of Martinsville, died Tuesday, May 17, 1994. Mr. McGhee, before coming to Roanoke, owned and operated Main Street Dry Cleaners in Martinsville. In 1958 he moved to Roanoke and opened the Breeze Motel in Hollins. He was a member of Oakland Baptist Church. Mr. McGhee is survived by a daughter, Juanita M. Harner of Roanoke; a son, Reaford B. McGhee of Roanoke; grandchildren, Diane M. Blankenship, of Roanoke, Chuck Mitchell of Greenville, S.C.; three great-grandchildren, Kristen Blankenship of Roanoke, Graham and Avery Mitchell both of Greenville, S.C. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 1994 at Oakey's North Chapel with Dr. J. Howard Powell officiating with burial to follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Oakey's North Chapel.

MEADOR, Layman Russell, 76, of Hardy, died Tuesday, May 17, 1994. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie R. Meador; sons and daughters-in-law, Russell and JoAnne Meador, Alvin and Jane Meador, Ronnie and Sue Meador; grandchildren, Jack, Jeffrey, Cari, Brandon, Timothy and Justin Meador; great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Robert, Jack and Justin Meador; sisters, Alberta Furrow, Muriel Holt, Kessie M. Webster; brother, Clyde Meador, Eugene Meador, Rudolph Meador, Arthur Meador, Jack Meador. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at the Garden City Grace Brethren Church by the Rev. MILES, Ethel Huff, of Rochester, N.Y., passed away Saturday, May 14, 1994. A former Roanoker, she was the daughter of Mrs. Martinia White. Other survivors include her daughter, Rhoda Walker; an aunt, Ethel Mae Trent, Rochester, N.Y. OSBORNE, Eleanor Pearl, 62, of Ripplemead, died Tuesday, May 17, 1994 at her home. Born in Quarry, Smyth Co., Va. on January 16, 1932 she was a daughter of the late Thomas Roy and Lucy Barnes Sessor. She was the mother of the late Lisa Chiemi Osborne. Surviving are her husband, Allen S. Osborne; two sons, John Forrest Osborne of Burke, Marcus Alan Osborne of Blacksburg; three daughters, Debra Jean Osborne of Blacksburg, Bobbi Denise Osborne of Radford, Nancy Leanne Altizer of Chester; one grandson, Joseph James Osborne of Radford; four brothers, Mike Sessor of Gold Bond, J.B. Sessor of Gold Bond, William Sessor of Ripplemead and John Sessor of Tomka Park, Md.; five sisters, Joan Belcher of Newport, Harriet Stevers of Newport, Shelby Davidson of Saltville, Frances Cregger of Saltville and Hazel Sessor of Blac ksburg, S.C. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 19, 1994, at 1 p.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel at Pembroke. Burial will be in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. WILLIAMS, Harry E., 69, of Roanoke County, died Monday, May 16, 1994. He was a graduate of Virginia Tech and was an Air Force veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Williams was a life member of the Air Force Association where he was Past President of the Roanoke Chapter. He was a member of Melrose Lodge #139 A.F. & A.M., Kazim Temple of the Shrine, Scottish Rite Bodies. Mr. Williams was also a life member of the P-51 Mustang Pilots Association and a member of the P-47 Thunderbolt Association. He was a retired Compliance Officer with the U.S. Department of Labor in Roanoke. Surviving is his wife, Fay Earman Williams; his children, (all graduates of Andrew Lewis High School in Salem), Carol W. Polster and Billy R. Williams, both of Richmond, Betty W. Davis of Marietta, Ga., Robert W. Williams of Villa Rica, Ga., Mary W. Pollitt of Orlando, Fla.; seven grandchildren; two brothers, James T. Williams Jr. of Pinellas Park, Fla. and Billy L. Williams of Annandale, Va. Services will be at Oakey's North Chapel 10 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. George Pearson will officiate. Interment will be in the Linville United Church of Christ Cemetery, Harrisonburg at 2 p.m. Friday. The family will receive friends at Oakey's North Chapel from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
