ELECTION CELEBRATION FRIDAY

A coalition of 10 community groups will sponsor a celebration of the recent South African elections at 7 p.m. Friday at High Street Baptist Church, 2302 Florida Ave. N.W.

Four panelists will address the gathering and there will be dramatic and musical entertainment, according to the Rev. Charles Green, president of the Roanoke Chapter of the NAACP, one of the sponsoring organizations.

The panelists will be the Rev. Vernie Bolden, pastor of Fifth Street Presbyterian Church; Rabbi Frank Muller of Temple Emanuel; Reginald Shareef of Radford University; and Joy Sylvester-Johnson, director of the Roanoke Rescue Mission.
