CLARK, Dessie Plogger, 64, of Lexington, Va. died Wednesday, May 18, 1994, in the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville. Mrs. Clark was born in Rockbridge Co. on February 10, 1930, a daughter of the late William Richard Plogger and Gracie Marie Hostetter Plogger. She was a member of the Grace Presbyterian Church in Lexington, and was preceded in death by a son, Bobby E. Clark. Surviving are her husband, Paul R. Clark, Lexington; two sons, Paul W. Clark, Lexington, Richard L. Clark, Lexington; one daughter, Wanda Gay Miller, Elkton; three brothers, William Plogger, Fairfield, Junior Plogger, Lexington, Arthur Plogger, Lynchburg; two sisters, Josephine Hazelwood, Buena Vista, Anna Belle Bowyer, Lexington; two half brothers, Tim Plogger of Buena Vista, Ke nneth Plogger of Buena Vista; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 21, 1994, at 1 p.m. at the Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. George H. COX, Virginia J., 71, of Emory, died Wednesday, May 18, 1994, in the Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was a member of the Meadowview United Methodist Church, the Emory and Henry Alumni Association, and the National Nurses Association. She was a graduate of Jefferson Hospital Nursing Program in Roanoke. She retired as the nurse of Emory and Henry College after 31 years of service. She was the widow of William Benjamin Cox. She is survived by one son, Carlisle Cox, Washington, D.C.; three daughters, Mrs. H. C. (Valerie) Carter, Chilhowie, Mrs. Dennis (Elizabeth) Mutter, Prince George, Deanna (De De) Cox, Emory; one brother, Robert L. (Buddy) Jones II, Galax; two sisters, Alice Jenkins, Richmond, Stella Frye, Mt. Airy, N.C.; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 20, 1994, at Farris Funeral Service in Abingdon. Burial will follow at the Felts Cemetery in Galax at approximately 2 p.m. on Friday.

SNYDER, Francis Morrison, 82, of Rt. 1, Rockbridge Baths, died Wednesday, May 18, 1994 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home, Lexington. He was born on November 10, 1911 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Bess F. Snyder and Pearl Lee (Ford) Snyder. Mr. Snyder was a farmer and was retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation. He was a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mabel Mae McNeil Snyder; three sons, Donald Lee Floyd Snyder and Larry Francis Snyder, both of Rockbridge Baths, Herman Hyde Snyder, Fairfield; one sister, Miss Bessie Lee Snyder, Lexington; three grandchildren, Rachel, Sarah and Brent Snyder, all of Fairfield.
