BUCS' OWNER TO SPEAK TO VALLEY SPORTS CLUB

Kelvin Bowles, the Salem Buccaneers' owner, will be the featured speaker Monday night when the Roanoke Valley Sports Club closes its 1993-94 year with a dinner program at the Salem Civic Center.

Bowles and Sam Lazzaro, vice president and general manager of the Carolina League baseball club, will be on hand to discuss recent talks on the team's sale, which fell through, and the prospects for a new ballpark in Salem.

The program begins with a social at 5:45 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:15. The cost is $10 for members and $15 for guests. Reservations can be made by calling Jody Moir at 989-5927.

No meetings are scheduled in June or July. The sports club also has begun accepting memberships for 1994-95 at $25. The '94-95 programs will begin in August with a football dinner and golf outing.
