The trailers, in the Snow Creek Trailer Court near Parker's Store, were engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived at the scene, said Claude Webster, director of public safety.
Webster said an electric heater accidentally set the first home on fire. The second home, 3 feet away, soon caught fire.
Normally, building permits require a 20-foot distance between trailer homes. But Webster said Fred Smith, the owner of both trailers, was planning to build a roof to connect the two homes.
No one was home when the fire began. Webster said both homes were a total loss.
