Cook won by a wide margin in finishing in 8 minutes, 39.36 seconds, but host George Mason used victories in the 400-meter relay and the high jump to win its sixth consecutive men's title.
The Patriots' solid team performance was the backdrop for some outstanding individual performances, including the second-fastest men's 800 in the United States during the outdoor season. Northeastern's Erik Nedeau won the race in 1:46.97.
George Mason finished with 87 points. Virginia was seventh with 31 points.
Roanoke's Ronde Barber was fourth in the 110-meter hurdles (14.42), and he combined with his brother, Tiki, to help lead the Cavaliers to a seventh-place finish in the 400 relay.
George Mason also won the women's team title, finishing with 102 points to edge Seton Hall by two. Virginia (14 points) was 18th.
James Madison's Stephanie Herbert, a senior from Blacksburg, finished third in the 10,000 meters (35:52.42) to earn All-ECAC honors.

The Patrick Henry boys' and girls' soccer teams will play host to Gar-Field in a Northwest Region doubleheader today at River's Edge Sports Complex. The PH girls play at 4:30 p.m., with the boys' game scheduled to follow at 6 p.m.
Cave Spring's boys and girls will be on the road today in the Northwest Region tournament - the girls at Albemarle and the boys at Hylton.
