DUBLIN - The New River Community College educational foundation has exceeded its 1993-94 fund-raising goal by more than 30 percent. The foundation brought in more than $148,000 in three separate campaigns during the year. The goal was $113,400.
Foundation executive director Mark Rowh said the funds will go toward student scholarships at New River as well as equipment and professional development.
The foundation is a private corporation that supports the needs of the college.

Blacksburg Electronic Village demonstrations
BLACKSBURG - The Blacksburg branch of Montgomery-Floyd Regional Library is offering more free public demonstrations and workshops for the Blacksburg Electronic Village.
All participants must register. Registration began Sunday at the at the Blacksburg branch library, 400 Draper Road. Each workshop has a limited enrollment and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The E-mail and Gopher workshops are for adults 16 and older.
Introductory overview demonstrations will be held on Wednesday, 7-8:30 p.m. and on June 7, 7-8:30 p.m.
Gopher workshops and hands-on training are scheduled for Saturday, 5:30-7:30 p.m.; June 10, 1-3 p.m. and June 25, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
E-mail workshops and hand-on training will be held Friday, 9-11 a.m.; June 11, 5:30-7:30 p.m.; and June 24, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
