Taste of the Arts Festival

NARROWS - Area artists and food vendors are being invited to participate in the third annual Taste of the Arts Festival June 11 and 12. This year's festival, to be held at the Mill Pond, will include a wine tasting with samples from wineries across Virginia as well as music and children's activities.

A variety of music - from Dixieland and bluegrass to Celtic, big band and rock and roll - will be performed on the festival stage.

Taste of the Arts gets under way June 11 at 10 a.m. and will pause at 7 p.m. for the Narrows High School graduation on the school football field nearby. The festival resumes June 12 from 1 until 6 p.m.

Artists or food vendors can obtain an entry form by calling Curtis Downey at 726-3499.

Miss Triple Valley Rodeo pageant

DUBLIN - The entry deadline for the Miss Triple Valley Rodeo pageant is June 4. The pageant will be held June 18 at the New River Valley Fairgrounds, Virginia 100 just north of Dublin. There are two age classes: 14-17 and 18-24. Women wishing to compete should complete an entry form available at Sue's Western Store, Christiansburg, at High Country Western Store, Rural Retreat, or by calling 382-7284.

The winner receives custom-designed silver belt buckles.
