The Spartans (13-7) took a 5-0 lead in the first thanks to run-scoring singles by Mitch Reed, David Greever and Josh Stephens. Giles added another run in the third before the Eagles (2-14) scored five unanswered runs, four of them coming in the sixth inning.
Giles then added a run on a safety squeeze and a subsequent two-RBI double by Patrick Steele.
Giles next plays Narrrows 4 p.m. Thursday at Calfee Park in Pulaski.

Shawsville, the No. 4 seed, whipped fifth-seeded Galax 20-11 and advanced to Thursday's semifinals.
The Maroon Tide (7-12) led 8-0 after the first half-inning and 10-2 after two, but Shawsville (12-7) scored six in the third and four in the fourth. Brad Dalton's single plated the go-ahead run. Dalton homered and went 3-for-5 with five RBI. Shawsville plays Grayson County in a 7:30 p.m. semifinal Thursday at Calfee Park.
At Narrows, the Green Wave rallied for a 10-6 victory over Bland. Monty Matthews' two-run homer for Bland (5-11) keyed a six-run fourth inning. Narrows (12-4) trailed 6-3 before scoring five in the fifth; Patrick Bailey's RBI single gave Narrows the lead. Relief pitcher Jeff White (7-2) earned the victory, striking out 10 in 32/3 innings. Narrows' Whitey Blankenship was 2-for-4 with three RBI and two stolen bases.
Grayson County scored the winning run on a bases-loaded error at second base in the fifth inning as the Blue Devils beat Floyd County 5-4 at Fries. Bobby Cheeks went 2-for-2 with a two-run homer, double, three RBI, and three runs scored. Chad Shaffner pitched a three-hitter for Grayson County (14-5), but was hurt by six errors.
BOYS' TENNIS:At Wytheville Country Club, Glenvar and Floyd County won their semifinals matches and advanced to the Region C team championship match this morning at 9. Glenvar defeated Rural Retreat 8-1, and Floyd County defeated Lebanon 7-2. In individual competition, Nick Varney of Glenvar advanced to the 1 p.m. final against Frank Turpin of Floyd County. In the doubles final at 3 p.m., Varney will team with Josh Williamson against Turpin and John Boyd of Floyd County.
Blacksburg gained momentum by winning the first three singles matches and went on to beat host Richlands 7-2 to win the Region IV title. The Indians advance to the state tournament June 2 and 3 at Poquoson High. In individual competition, Robert Gibb of Blacksburg drilled Shane Clem of Richlands 6-3, 6-1 in the championship match.
GIRLS' TENNIS: At Bissett Park in Radford, Grayson County beat Lebanon 6-3 and Fort Chiswell beat Bath County 9-0 to advance to the Region C team championship 9 a.m. today.In the individual competition, Parry McCluer's Melanie Wexel beat Giles' Heidi Guthrie 6-4, 6-0 and Grayson's Jessica Sumner beat Lebanon's Melissa Combs 6-2, 6-1 in the singles semifinals. In the doubles semifinals, Sumner and Jenny Reedy beat Wexel and Stephanie Lawhorn 6-3, 2-6, 6-4, and Floyd County's Cherie Quesenberry and Emily Edwards beat Combs and Misty Sword 4-6, 6-4, 6-4. Individual finals are today at noon.
SOCCER: Blacksburg crushed guest Marion 11-0 in the semifinals of the Group AA Region IV playoffs. Gregg Adamo scored two goals to go with an assist, Mark Decker chipped a goal and three assists, Steve Cherry added two goals and one assist, and Todd Perdue had a goal, an assist, and made a save as a goal keeper. Jason Boyle also had a goal and an assist. Blacksburg (14-0-2) entertains Radford Friday for the regional championship.
Kirk Perrow and Jon Quesenbery scored both ofRadford's goals in the first half then the Bobcats played a sound defensive game the rest of the way to defeat host Virginia High 2-1 in the opening round of the Group AA Region IV tournament. Radford (13-5) visits Blacksburg Friday for the regional championship.
