Checks of $1,380 each are going to the county's Emergency Needs Task Force, Habitat for Humanity, Pulaski Free Clinic, Food Basket and Youth Emergency Shelter.
The shelter program is a new recipient this year. The organization is raising money for a temporary shelter for young people, and is looking for a suitable building. Donations and information on possible buildings should be given to Margaret Stevens at 980-1708.
The annual yard sale is carried out entirely by volunteers, selling items donated during the year. It was the brainchild of Anna Powers, who expressed appreciation to people who donated to and worked for the project again this year.
``They put in a lot of hours,'' she said.
