FRITH, Genilla Hammond, 60, of 2465 Tillett Road SW died Thursday, May 26, 1994. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Earl Frith. Surviving is her daughter, Lisa Michele Frith Szabo; two sons, Mark Allen Frith, Eric Matthew Frith; her mother, Rena Hammond; a sister, Pat Frink; two grandchildren, Michael Paul Szabo, Andrea Maria Szabo; three nieces, Patrice Irish, Caroline Frink, Victoria Frink. Services will be at Oakey's South Chapel, 1 pm Tuesday. The Rev. Tom Stocks will officiate; interment will follow in Glade Creek Cemetery, Botetourt County. AUSTIN, ALVIN M., 62, of Houston, Texas, died Saturday, May 21, 1994. Surviving are his wife, Norma Austin; two sons, Alvin M. Austin Jr., and Philip Austin; two daughters, Cheryl and Melanie Austin; all of Houston, Texas; three sisters, Frances Prosperi, Roanoke; Shirley Fairchild, Roanoke, Lucille Fitzgerald, Chicago. Military graveside services were held Tuesday, May 24, 1994, in Pasadena, Texas.

BRITT, Franklin E., 70, of Christiansburg, died suddenly Saturday morning, May 28, 1994 of an apparent heart attack. He was a veteran of World War II and was a retired carpenter. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia B. and Bobby L Swain, Christiansburg; one sister, Etta B. Miles, Christiansburg; a brother, Allen B. Britt, Roanoke; special friends, Polly Tinnel, Ray Graham and JoAnn Britt, all of Christiansburg. The funeral will be 1 pm Monday from the First Pentecostal Holiness Church, Third and Phlegar Streets, conducted by the Rev. Richard Kingrea, the Rev. Jack Perdue and the Rev. Everette Shepherd. Interment will be in the Roselawn Memorial Garden s. The body will be placed in the church at 2 pm Sunday, where friends may call. The family will receive friends at the church from 7-9 pm Sunday. CALDWELL, Debra Holt, 42, of Hampton, died Friday, May 27, 1994, in a Hampton hospital. She is survived by her husband, Jerry M. Caldwell; one daughter, Tina Caldwell; one son, Mark Caldwell; her parents, Herbert L. Sr. and Ruth T. Holt; one sister, Barbara H. Blake; one brother, Herbert L. Holt Jr., all of Hampton; her father and mother-in-law, Harlan B. and Thelma R. Caldwell, Christiansburg. CALDWELL, Lonnie Alfred, 74, of Roanoke, passed away Saturday, May 28, 1994. He was retired from the V.A. Medical Center in Salem. Originally from Charleston, W.Va., he was born January 26, 1920. Lonnie was one of the first five black police officers in Roanoke, sworn in in 1946. He is survived by his wife, Lola Mae Caldwell; one daughter, Ramona Lynne Caldwell; one son, Lonnie Lee Caldwell; one beloved grandson, Johnathan Caldwell, all of Roanoke; a host of family and friends. Funeral mass will be Tuesday 2 p.m. at Saint Gerard's Catholic Church. Father Wayne Ba ll will officiate with interment in Williams Memorial Park. CORN, Bobby R., 59, of Roanoke, died Thursday, May 26, 1994, following a brief illness. He is survived by his mother, Ada H. Corn, Raleigh, N.C.; his wife, Linda H. Corn; two sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Linda Corn, Danville, Ricky and Jeana Corn, Wendell, N.C.; one daughter and future son-in-law, Pamela Corn and John Gore, Wingate, N.C.; one brother, Billy Corn, Salem; one sister, Eugenia Hunt, Durham, N.C.; and two grandchildren. Mr. Corn has been employed in the bumper business for over 30 years. Services will be at Oakey's South Chapel 11 a.m. Monday, May 30, 1994. The Rev. David Yingling will officiate. DAY, Texanna, 84, of Salem, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 1994. Survivors include four nephews, Lacy Compton and Maurice Compton, both of Wilmington, Del., Raymond Compton, Indianapolis, Ind., Robert Scruggs, Maryland; a host of other relatives and friends. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, 12:30 p.m. at Williams Memorial Park. Dr. J. A. Braxton will officiate. GEARHEART, Randolph Allen, 49, of Salem, passed away Saturday, May 28, 1994 in Dublin, Virginia. He was born in Cambria, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred R. Gearheart. He was a contractor in the Salem and Roanoke area for many years. He was a graduate of Andrew Lewis High School and attended Roanoke College. He was an Army Veteran of Vietnam where he served two tours with the 196 Light Infantry Brigade of the Americal Division. He was also a member of the Salem Chapter of the Disabled American Veterans. Survivors include his parents, Cecil E. and Faye G. Counts of Salem; a daughter, Lora A. Caffee of Orlando, Florida; a grandmother, Vada T. Counts of Washington County; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Fred R., Jr. and Linda Gearheart of Farmville, Rodney R. and Shirley Gearheart of Dublin, and Charles E. and Melody Counts, of Smythe County; one sister and brother-in-law, Madeline G. and Donald Terry of Stokesdale, N.C. Numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins in and around Immigrant, Montana, Price, Kentucky and Washington County, Virginia. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and his friends and comrades of the P.T.S.D. Group 29. Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 1994 at 11 am in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Ben Trawick of The New Dublin Presbyterian Church. GUILLIAMS, Cecil Ray, 59, of Check, passed away at his home on Saturday, May 28, 1994. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvie and Ora Guilliams. HALSEY, Wyndell Grimsley, 85, of Route 5, Bedford, died Friday, May 27, 1994, in Bedford County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Grayson County on March 20, 1909, a son of the late Cebert Felix Halsey and Eva Ann Wood Halsey. He was preceded in death by a son, Cebert Halsey; and a daughter, Helen Halsey. He was retired from the timber business, and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge. He is survived by two sons, Donald G. Halsey, Salmon, Idaho, Richard D. Halsey, Eagle River, Ark.; two daughters, Shirley H. Bievenour, York, Pa., Janie H. Leik, Yorkhaven, Pa.; a brother, Albert Halsey, Big Island; a sister, Frances H. Duke, Salmon, Idaho; a dear loving friend, Ida T. Mitchell, Bedford; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 31, 1994, at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Ray T. Lyons officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. HUMMEL, Anna Beth, infant, of Roanoke, died at her home Saturday, May 28, 1994. She is the daughter of Todd William and Rebecca Susan Hummel. She is survived by two sisters, Sarah Ruth and Leah Anne Hummel of the home; two brothers, Benjamin Thomas Hummel of the home, and Jeremy Paul Hummel, Vero Beach, Fla; paternal grandparents, Robert William and Jewel Gloria Hummel, Prophetstown, Illinois; maternal grandparents, Terrie A. and Roland W. Price, of Middleburg, Fla; paternal great-grandmother, Lorett Wilson, Prophetstown, Illinois; and maternal great-grandmother, Patricia Head, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 pm Sunday at Oakeys North Chapel with the Rev. Howard Finnicum conducting a memorial service. Burial will be i n Prophetstown, Illinois. INGRAM, Daisy Jordon, 98, of Gray Grier Nursing and Retirement Center, formerly of Trinity, died May 27, 1994 at 5:45 pm at the nursing center. She was born March 3, 1896 in Trinity, a daughter of Roland and Minnie Welborn Jordan. A resident of Trinity area all her life, and formerly a school teacher, she was a member of Trinity Baptist Church; she also had been a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church years ago. In 1917, she was married to L. Roy Ingram. He died December 25, 1986. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Marguerette Boling, of 2719 Bluefield Boulevard, SW, Roanoke, Va., and three grandchildren. Funeral will be held 2 pm Tuesday in Trinity Baptist Church by Dr. D. Terrell Watts and Dr. Elliott Stewart. Burial will be in Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery. The body will remain at the Sechrest Funeral Home-A rchdale and will be placed in the church thirty minutes before the service. The family will be at the funeral home Monday from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Trinity Baptist Church or to Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.

IRVIN, Louise Cox, 80, of Roanoke, died Saturday, May 28, 1994. She is formerly of Giles and Pulaski Counties. She went to meet her Saviour this day. She was born in Wythe County on October 10, 1913, and was the daughter of the late James Wallace Cox and Cora Alice Sayers Cox. She was the widow of Bernice L. (Pedro) Irvin, and was also preceded in death by two daughters, Ella Mae Irvin, Phyllis I. Grayson; a son, Bernie L. Irvin; three brothers; three sisters. She leaves be hind with great sadness one daughter, Shirley I. Bryan, Roanoke; one daughter-in-law, Peggy H. Irvin, Pembroke; son-in-law, A. Ward Grayson, Christiansburg; eight grandchildren, Melanie I. Williams and husband, Richard, Sharon L. Irvin, both of Pembroke, Scott Grayson and wife, Tammy, Christiansburg, Mike Grayson and wife, Sarah, Lynchburg, Patti I. McCaslin, Lisa Stilwell-Wilson and husband, Brent, Leslie S. Caldwell, Tommy Stilwell Jr., all of Roanoke; six great-grandchildren, Lindsey and Brandon Williams, Bobby and Veronica Wilson, Kayla Caldwell, Carrie Grayson; two sisters, Mable C. MASK, Frances Foster, 73, of Goodview, VA, died Thursday, May 26, 1994. She is survived by her husband LT/COL Bernnie R. Mask, USAF (Retired) of Goodview, and two daughters, Mrs. Sandra M. Holland of Clifton, Virginia and Amy M. Drain of Roanoke. She is also survived by her sons-in-law, CDR James E. Holland, USN (Ret.) of Clifton, Ronald E. Drain of Roanoke, grandchildren Lindsay, Courtney and Matt Holland all of Clifton, Va., and special counsins, Karen Bland, Elizabeth McColgin, John, L.B. and W.H. Foster. Mrs. Mask accompanied her husband throughout his career from initial training as a pilo t until his retirement. This included overseas tours in Korea and Japan during occupation in 1945. Japan during the Korean War and a tour in England. After retirement to Columbus, MS, she returned with her family to El Paso, TX, later moving to Beaumont, TX where they resided 11 years before returning to the Roanoke area. Funeral will be Tuesday, 31 May 1994 at 2 pm at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Dennis Moore of Beaverdam Baptist Church, Chamblissburg. The family will receive friends at Oakey Roanoke Chapel from 2 to 4 pm Sunday, May 29.

MOYER, Emma Jane Mummau, 72, of Aiken, South Carolina, formerly of Roanoke, VA, died Friday, May 27, 1994, at the Shenandoah Valley Health Care Center, Buena Vista, Va. Born in Pennsylvania, June 16, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Amos W. and Stella Hershey Mummau. Mrs. Moyer was a member of the Brethren in Christ Church, Roanoke. She was a Bible teacher with the Christian's Women's Club, Chil d Evangelism and Sunday School. She had worked in Food Service at Radford University, as well as being a Pastor's wife, a motel manager, and a needlework artisan. The family fondly remembers her wisdom, her vision and her celebration of life. Surviving Mrs. Moyer are her husband, Jacob Eshelman Moyer, Aiken, SC; two daughters, Doris Jean M. Capito, Bristol, Va., Patricia M. Reiter, Lexington; one son, J. Larry Moyer, Philadelphia, Pa; two brothers, Amos H. Mummau, Elizabethtown, Pa and Owen E. Mummau, Manheim, Pa; also seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 31, 1994 at 11 am from the Harrison Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Brad Langdon and Rev. NOLEN, Esther Peters, 69, of Floyd, passed away Saturday, May 28, 1994, in a Roanoke hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil R. Nolen. Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Randall and Nancy Nolen, Floyd; five sisters, Ocie Rakes, Peggy Harris, Eva Sweeney, all of Floyd, Alice Page, Bivie Yearout, both of Roanoke; four brothers, Ray Peters, Floyd, Jack Peters, Baltimore, Md., Ellett Peters, Harrington, Wash., Herman Peters, Stockton, Calif. OBENCHAIN, Ethel Mae, 73, of Atlanta, Ga., passed away Saturday, May 28, 1994. Formerly of Roanoke, Miss Obenchain worked for Michael's Bakery for many years. Surviving are one sister, Ruby O.
